We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team. We believe in giving engineers responsibility, not tasks.

Our goal is to motivate and challenge people to do their best work. To do that, we have a very fluid structure and give people flexibility to work on projects that they enjoy the most.

This develops more capable engineers, and keeps everyone engaged and happy.


Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the software.

Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise.

Identify and solve for bottlenecks within our software stack.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field

10+ years of relevant work experience,

Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages like Java, C / C++, Scala, Python

Experience with Google Cloud Platform / AWS / Azure or other public cloud technologies is

a plus

Experience working with two or more from the following : Unix / Linux environments, Windows environments, distributed systems, networking, developing large software systems, file systems, storage systems, hypervisors, databases and / or security software development.


Forge is the platform and systems engineering team at Rubrik. Our mission is to develop a highly reliable and scalable software defined platform that radically simplifies building, deploying, and managing on-premise, virtual, and cloud-based appliances.

We design the appliance platform and build the core infrastructure for Operating System, Networking, Clustering, and Deployment.

In addition, we provide common infrastructure services encompassing system monitoring, system management, cluster management, and data migration.

All of these serve as the backbone for powering Rubrik’s industry leading Data Protection and Data Management solutions.

Mission - Vulcan owns the upgrade workflow of software releases on on-prem clusters. Our mission is to make software upgrades seamless, simple, fast and non-disruptive.

Our customers undergo 2-3 software upgrades in a year. We strive to bring the simplicity similar to an Android / iPhone upgrade to the world of enterprise.

Our goal is to make upgrades have zero downtime and zero failures. Recently, we have -

  • Built 20+ models of predicting Upgrade failures before it actually happens.
  • Added support for rollback by moving to a dual-disk partition based deployments.
  • Optimized Upgrade performance by 2x by minutely analyzing every task in the workflow.
  • Upcoming projects :

  • Make Upgrades Non-disruptive : On a multi-node cluster, upgrade one node a time (rolling upgrade) so that backup jobs continue without any disruption
  • Smart Scheduling - Use AI techniques to identify the right Upgrade time window for a customer.
  • Uniform upgrades : Make upgrade time independent of the size of cluster.
