Position Summary :

The Infra application administrator’s role is to operate and performance-tune Microsoft O365 application and platforms across the organization to ensure high levels of data quality, availability, and security.

This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure backup efficiency, and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements

Major responsibilities :

  • Perform tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements with end-users regarding storage allocations, limitations, security, and availability.
  • Set up and configure Microsoft O365 applications i.e. Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint O365 user management and licensing.
  • Troubleshoot O365 application issues
  • Maintain and troubleshoot VDI and virtualization related technologies such as Citrix and Horizon.
  • Strong skills in PowerShell and scripting
  • Establish and maintain end-user access policy and permissions. This may include delegating permissions authority to other users.
  • Perform and test backups and restores to ensure that enterprise data is effectively protected.
  • Communicate and enforce, through system procedures, data storage retention policies.
  • Follow change control, incident response, and testing processes for modifications to storage appliances and software.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to, and resolve issues with storage devices, storage access, and data retrieval.
  • Research and make recommendations on storage products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for storage equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth to recommend enhancements to the IT storage team.
  • Develop routines for end-users to facilitate storage best practices, including desktop storage administration.
  • Remain informed on storage laws, trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices; advise, counsel, and educate executive and management teams on their relative importance.
  • Ensure that information storage measures and equipment adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform storage server / database transaction and security audits leading to identification and mitigation of security threats to enterprise data.
  • Recommend and implement changes where necessary.

  • Create required reports in response to business user needs.
  • Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and tasks.
  • Manage and / or provide guidance to junior members of the team

    Job Requirements

    Education / Experience : Educational requirements and number of years related experience acquired before or with Varian Medical Systems (VMS)

    Educational requirements : Degree in computer science or equivalent

    MCSE Certification

    Number of years related experience : Minimum 10 years related experience, minimum 5 years of experience in the networking field

    Knowledge : Information Technology :

    Information Technology :

    Proven experience with Microsoft O365 applications administration.

    Working technical knowledge of current messaging and collaboration systems software, protocols, and standards, including Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Team Foundation Server, Citrix and Horizon.

    Knowledge of industry best practices for e-mail privacy and regulatory compliance, routing, filtering, monitoring, tiered storage, backup, and disaster recovery.

    Strong working knowledge of patch management and change control practices.

    Extensive experience with Active Directory.

    Extensive support experience with IIS and .NET application architecture.

    Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database management.

    Experience with high-availability design (failover systems and data replication).

    Previous exposure to server virtualization technologies.

    Hands-on troubleshooting experience

    Understanding of ITIL processes and best practise

    Customers : Sound understanding of customers and their requirements.
