The Enterprise Testing team is responsible for the development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities across the Enterprise in alignment with the Risk Management Framework, and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies.
Executes review activities in an effective manner and communicate potential emerging risks appropriately. May serve in either a control script execution and / or review lead capacity, participating in review activity engagements in a matrixed environment, and communicating emerging risks to management.
Completes review activities on schedule. Raises schedule delays to the review activity lead. Escalates any potential issues discovered during the completion of review activities to a review lead, and follows through on reporting, escalation, and resolution.
Completes all documentation under supervision and appropriately retains all work papers, (testing schedule, templates, work-papers, deferrals, deviations, etc.
Supports and implements initiatives with low to moderate risk. Internal interaction with team to support risk oversight and monitoring.
Limited to no external interaction. Works independently; does not manage other team members.
About the Role
Works with assigned business units to provide internal control and compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk to identify, assess and mitigate regulatory risk in business activities as well as developing corrective action plans for deficiencies.
Report findings and draft recommendations to compliance risk and business line management. Coordinate / leverage certain responsibilities and best practices with other brokerage departments (i.
e. Internal Controls, Compliance Risk) as well as other Wholesale Banking compliance programs (i.e. Wealth, Retirement, etc.
Produce periodic compliance performance reports (i.e. CAR Reports) for senior management.
Responsible for performing risk-based compliance control testing to assure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies applicable to Wholesale Banking & Lending business.
These responsibilities will include the support and / or testing for compliance of the Operational Risk and Compliance Testing and Validation Standards and Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Policy and Procedures and will include usage of the Wells Fargo SHRP system
Market Skills and Certifications
Key Responsibilities :
Working with Wholesale Banking complex lines of business to execute required compliance and operational risk assignments
Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based program to identify, assess and mitigate any operational & compliance risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, regulatory requirements while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency
Execute testing strategies in accordance with Regulatory Compliance Risk Management policies and procedures
Exhibit credible challenge and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes and internal controls while maintaining professional independence throughout the testing engagement
Ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies
Completes all documentation under supervision and appropriately retains all work papers, (testing schedule, templates, work-papers, deferrals, deviations, etc.)
Works with assigned business units and provides compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk
analyzes business and / or systems changes to determine impact; identifies and assesses compliance & operational risk issues and assigns risk ratings consistent with established policy standards
may design / coordinate the development of training materials and delivers training
Reports findings and drafts recommendations to mitigate risk to operational risk and business line management. Coordinates production of periodic compliance risk performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies.
May assist testing project teams and provide guidance to less experience specialists / consultants
Provide compliance expertise and potential solutions to identified gaps and associated risks to the line of business and Wholesale Banking
B.Com, BBM, M.Com, MBA or equivalent degree (Accounting, Information Systems, Business Management, Finance, Business Administration)
7-9 Years of relevant experience in Internal Audit, Compliance & Operational Risk Testing, Issue & Action Plan Validations
Experience with risk management tools.
Ability to develop and foster partnerships and influence change.
Adaptable to a dynamic work environment with multiple priorities and strict timelines and able to organize for responsiveness and efficiency.
Proven ability to work within a team environment as well as individual accountability.
Experience working knowledge in large complex organizations
Understanding of US banking regulatory requirements
Tools / Systems needed : Microsoft Excel, Visio, and Word
ORM, CIA, CRCM, CRM and / or other relevant certifications would be an added advantage
