Test Specialist Network Validation Lead

Network Validation is vital to ensure the correct focus and governance is introduced across all Lines Of Business for IT test processes that require network validation.
This will be a centralised role and require matrix managing various LOB leads in order to produce and maintain the NV plan.
There is also a requirement to hold regular checkpoints for adherence to the plan and manage any changes with the relevant LOB leads within QA
The role requires a good grasp of the business priorities in order to make the right call when it comes to a conflict of resource, and be able to articulate these in order to explain priority call decisions.
The role ensures progression on the unit test strategy and framework implementation through each programme of work it undertakes.
The job assists with test unit budgeting and expenditure, financial planning and forecasting, and securing required funding.
NVT is used as a phase of testing to engage with operational live teams to verify the network requirements, once delivered to live, are meeting the live processes for the customer.
This will specifically test the journey for a customer from the OSS systems to the live network devices.
Ensure network validation testing covers the length & breadth of all the OSS tools that facilitate customer journey via their systems to the network devices, by implementing, regression testing, feature testing, stress testing etc.
What you'll be doing
Accountable for the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of testing within their business unit with respect to their specialism.
Accountable for the quality of deliverables signed out of test with respect to their specialism and responsible for the inputs to all the test strategy and test schedules in their area of expertise.
Applying tailored / established test best practice depending on the needs of a project
Has influence in the application of the best practice testing across multiple programmes of work and will be recognised across business units as a specialist, working with SME across the unit.
May contribute to the creation of a plan to review / monitor / control the activities of third party test resource.
Accountable for providing recommendations and advice to management decisions on matters relating to test projects AND the test organisation in which they work, including new test tools,customer disclosure information, training options for their teams
Accountable for being a local coach / mentor, who is sought after across the unit.
Improved Test & QA demand management
Own the plan and execution of all activities relating to Network Validation testing that encompasses the testing of the customer workflow from the OSS systems such as rPACS, SRIMS , SMARTS, NGEA, NSO, LIVESP etc.
all the way to its impact on the network devices in the core MPLS network.
This role will involve interfacing with multiple lines of businesses such as BT Global Services, BT Open Reach and BT Whole Sale in order to provide network validation testing services for the respective customers.
Refresh the plan every release / project and review with the relevant LOB test leads.
Ensure detailed walkthroughs are carried out by the owning / consuming test team.
Hold regular governance calls during interlock to ensure progress and issue control
Ensure reporting is correct
Identify improvements in process and implement
Customer experience improvement
Own the central repository of all data built to cover Network Validation.
Involvement in Agile and dev ops Programmes
Own the NIT interlock plan and improvements incl MEWs and PEWs
Drive the use of automation in N / W validation testing
Support QA Tech Store initiatives.
Identify test environment improvement initiatives and implement them
