Prime Video is looking for an innovative and passionate VFX Program Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment to join Prime Video and join our evolving VFX production team.
You will be responsible for the overall management of title ingest, media management and media QC / QA during the initial stages of our productions and managing and creating new pipeline processes, whilst ensuring that the team’s projects stays on track, on time while maintaining the highest technical standards.
Assist in streamlining creative workflows, data hygiene in shot management system and overall project management for two VFX related workflows.
Work closely with senior program manager(s) to dive deep into data to develop process and solutions for a more streamlined and efficient workflows.
This person will help to ensure metrics are captured, and data is collected and monitored to improve overall performance and efficiencies of the VFX pipeline.
Additionally this person will assist with overall project management activities such as updating SOPs, collecting and organizing data in templates, managing deliverables and team advancement projects to create efficiencies and improve processes.
Experience in working with creative software and content is a plus as this position will require some creative decision making.
Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with account managers, peers and leadership to deliver high-quality, scalable, post-production title and file management processes.
Create and maintain shotgrid reports to analyze performance and track deliverables.
Manage daily, weekly, monthly schedules working with multiple stakeholders in multiple time-zones, and ultimately reporting to the Head of Production.
Coordinate and manage our current pre-production techniques, workflows, and improve systemization of our fast growing VFX pipeline.
Supervise and manage ingest operations for ALL new digital media, across multiple formats and codecs
Validate Source Asset quality, and maintain quality of asset throughout pipeline, through delivery
Check for content consistency, and perform multiple full linear reviews of assets and flag issues that are inconsistent in the context of the program.
Identify Technical Issues : consisting of Framing Issues, Aspect Ratio Issues, Image Levels, Formatting, Codec Inconsistency and more.
Ideate tools and work with engineering to develop process efficiency tools to minimize future Technical Issues.
Identify Content Issues : consisting of Visible Production Errors, Pixel Errors, Animation Errors, Frame Edge Errors, Luminance Shift, Dead Pixels, Dropped / Duplicate Frames, Frame Offset, Effect Sync, Missing Effect and more.
Ideate tools and work with engineering to develop process efficiency tools to minimize future creative Issues.
Attention to detail and immaculate organization are critical to the role as you will manage the existing workflow, while envisioning and building improvements into the system
You will have a solid understanding of the various post-production workflows, DIT experience, and familiarity with a multitude of asset deliverables
You will follow established protocols in order to provide a consistent and reliable experience for both internal and external partners, as we re-shape the future of media management with an eye towards systemization
Create weekly reports about workflow challenges, noting improvements where they can be made
Establish and nurture positive relationships with outside vendors and resources
Work smoothly and efficiently across multiple time zones, multiple vendors, and multiple teams internally
Serve as point of contact for all ingest requests, ingest operations, title management once within the VFX workflow, and QC / QA of title ingest, title progress, and title delivery
Use working knowledge of the post production process to ensure timely delivery of every every project
Learn new knowledge of the post production workflows, software, and process which you may not yet be familiar with, but which are needed to successfully perform this role
Be highly detail oriented at every phase of the VFX workflow you own. Limit problems, big and small, from traveling upstream by taking action early on, being proactive instead of reactive
Be an experienced and self-motivated QA / QC supervisor
Be flexible to respond after hours for important, timely, or urgent matters
2+ years experience in program or project management
2-5 Years Post Production experience with VFX specific workflows
2 Years Experience working within a VFX production studio, managing post production workflows, and media management
5 Years Experience with media management, file management, DIT workflows, cloud based workflows
Expertise and experience working with Shotgrid (mandatory)
Knowledge of all known digital video file formats, and curiosity about new and emerging digital video file formats
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
Experience working with tight schedules, deadlines and deliverables
Able to juggle multiple projects, workflows and deliverables concurrently
Demonstrated ability to lead, and to multi-task and self-prioritize
Self starter with bias for action who is not afraid to take corrective action when needed in order to keep the project on track and on schedule
Ability to work with highly technical teams and envision improvements to workflows and process while mastering your current tasks
Experience with FFMPEG
Working knowledge of most major 3D VFX tool-sets, composition applications, and rendering engines
Working knowledge of Nuke, Maya, After-Effects, Blender
Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced online environment
You’re comfortable working in tandem with other teams working abroad
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time and to meet aggressive deadlines
Proactively manage timelines, deliverables, and keep projects on track around-the-clock
