Network Security Lead / SME

Fortive is looking for a Network Security Leader / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Information Security Threat Detection and Engineering team.

This role will serve as the primary architect and leader for network security at Fortive, and will lead a team of network security engineers.

This person will help develop the strategy and roadmap for network security at Fortive and its Operating Companies. This role will require someone that is both technical and has leadership experience.

The intent is to mature the Fortive network security program, network security monitoring and detection capabilities, and drive standards.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Planning, architecting, engineering, and monitoringf the network security infrastructure.
  • Identification, analysis, and defining the overall network security requirements along side the Director of Information Security
  • Configuring and implementing intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, and other network security services or devices.
  • This position will lead a team that manages enterprise firewalls and other network security services.
  • Responsible for the monitoring, health, capacity planning, and resiliency of firewalls, VPN’s, forward-proxies, SSL decryption, NIDS / NIPS, and other network security services.
  • Will work with the Endpoint Security team to integrate any monitoring or protection gaps between endpoint and network products.
  • Serve as a SME for incident investigations where assistance is needed from the Security Monitoring team with expertise in network data.
  • Participate in the Architectural Review Board to ensure network security best practices, principles, and requirements are addressed in any new projects or plans.
  • Help define and maintain information security policies, standards, and plans with regards to network security.
  • Identify network security monitoring gaps, create a plan to address them, then evaluate vendors or architectural changes that can mitigate them.
  • Work with the Splunk enterprise team to ensure logging is being received and is accurate for network security devices and services.
  • Work with other security and network teams to integrate solutions to enhance the overall security posture of Fortive and reduce the time to detect and respond to incidents.
  • Experience working with Web Application Firewalls, Network sandboxes, SSL decryption, Network Taps, and Network Access Control (NAC)
  • Experience desired :

    Familiarity with Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, and client connectors.

    Experience working with enterprise deployments of Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls, including Cisco ISE.

    Experience with enterprise VPN deployments and load balancers

    Experience with Bro / Zeek, PCAP, and network packet capture applications

    Experience with Network Intrusion Detection systems such as SourceFire, Snort, Suricata, etc

    Experience with Network Intrusion Prevention systems

    Splunk Enterprise Security experience is ideal, or with other SIEMS such as ArcSight, Q1 Radar, SecurityOnion

    SANS GCIA, GCIH, GSNA and other network related certifications idea
