Job Description

Designs, builds, and integrates applications and platforms to support Intel's business needs. We are looking for a senior engineer with extensive experience working hands-

on in core areas of Linux Operating System Solutions, Systems Administration and Kernel Debugging. An ideal candidate would be someone with extensive experience in large scale infrastructure across multiple geographies with significant knowledge of industry trends.

The candidate should be able to lead solution development for Intel IT's global computing environment and troubleshooting of complex issues in the computing environment including interoperability issues with file servers and other infrastructure services.

Qualifications

  • Drive Linux Operating System solutions development including qualification, deep understanding of multiple Linux distributions and packaging
  • Troubleshoot kernel and system issues occurring in the environment, ability to debug kernel core dumps and usage of tools such as sar, vmstat, systemtap, kdump, gdb, etc.
  • Very good understanding of Linux / UNIX infrastructure capabilities such as NIS, LDAP, NFS, AutoFS, RPC etc.
  • Very good understanding of capabilities such KVM, fscache, ksplice / kgraft, LVS, btrfs, SELinux, etc.
  • Interface with internal business unit representatives, engineering and operations teams and help / guide them on technical tasks and guidelines
  • Interface with external stake-holders including Linux distribution vendors and software solution vendors
  • Inside this Business Group

    Intel's Information Technology Group (IT) designs, deploys and supports the information technology architecture and hardware / software applications for Intel.

    This includes the LAN, WAN, telephony, data centers, client PCs, backup and restore, and enterprise applications. IT is also responsible for e-

    Commerce development, data hosting and delivery of Web content and services.
