Overview

As part of the Global ERP team, this position will lead implement and stabilize the SAP ERP system, focusing on SAP Finance (FI) and SAP Controlling (CO).

The position requires a well-rounded expert with a combination of strong Record to Report process experience (SAP FI / CO), is analytical, well organized, has strong business knowledge and the ability to be hands-on and a desire to dive into the details.

Leads the development of global business systems analysis methods, tools, and strategies. Serves as subject matter expert for the business systems group.

Provides less experienced co-workers with advice and guidance on all aspects of business systems analysis.

Responsibilities

The position will focus on SAP Finance (FI) and SAP Controlling (CO) aspects of the Record to Report processes; below are a few of major business processes areas :

  • Product Costing associated business processes (including the production / process order creation and closing process)
  • Use of Material Ledger and the associated business processes
  • Understanding of Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) and how it is used
  • Cost Center budgeting and allocations
  • Understanding of Cash / Bank Management and Treasury business processes
  • Understanding of how In House Cash (IHC) functionality and use
  • Understanding of financial supply chain ; accounting entries from the Order to Cash (OTC), Procure to Pay (PTP) and Plan to Make (PTM) document flows
  • Revenue Recognition / Deferred Revenue business process
  • Integration with external and internal systems
  • Working with the Bio-Rad finance team leader, subject matter experts and stakeholders globally to :

    Analyze and document current and future business needs.

  • ensure future business processes satisfy the intent
  • lead the configuration for the business processes
  • liaison working cross-functionally with other business teams to ensure business processes operate at their optimum efficiency
  • lead team ensuring that the system is built for intended use
  • maintain system integrity through the traceability of requirements to delivery
  • document of the SAP system
  • ensure the accounts payable areas are well supported
  • The position will use business and IT perspectives and work effectively within cross functional areas of the organization, including :

  • other process area managers on the ERP team
  • key managers and stakeholders throughout the company
  • This person must :

  • have demonstrated working with ERP managers and business owners to formulate actionable plans and solutions
  • Experience with systems implementation and / or process transformation. The candidate must have experience documenting processes as is through process maps and SOP’s and have a working knowledge of business process decomposition techniques.

    The candidate must be able to design processes and sub-processes and to think through the implications of those designs.

    Understanding how these processes provide Bio-Rad competitive advantages or operational efficiencies is essential.

    Five (5) or more years direct experience in supporting financial accounting and management accounting functions focus on SAP ERP (RTR).

    Experience finacial supply chain and finacial close and consolidation solutions a plus.

    Experience in a personnel management role with a strong record of building and managing teams through leadership, direction, coaching and mentoring is a plus.

    Sound business and IT acumen

    Ability to think strategically and converting strategy into tactical execution, is a plus

    Ability to establish critical relationships throughout the company and to build trust and credibility throughout the organization.

    Ability to effectively, succinctly, and confidently communicate team decisions to all levels of the organization with the appropriate level of detail (verbal, written, and presentation)

    A Project Management mindset for working in a high paced environment with multiple releases.

    Previous experience on project teams with a proven ability to work under time constraints while meeting critical milestones

    Ability to travel on average 30%, including international, with the ability to travel extensively as project needs require.

    Proven ability to work independently and collaborate closely with others to accomplish business objectives.

    Proven ability to work in ambiguous environments

    Proven leader that builds and fosters open working team environments

    Experience with international business processes and relationships a strong plus.

    Fluency in English is mandatory.

    Education :

    Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate work experience
