We are seeking exceptional candidates to fill a Senior Finance Analyst position in BCG GAMMA, a business unit dedicated to data science as well as software and data solutions.

BCG GAMMA plays an integral role to deliver superior client value and impact through advanced analytics and AI along with developing proprietary software and data assets.

Within this role, you will support the finance and business teams with achieving our overall strategic and financial objectives.

This begins with capacity management and building out a scalable, sustainable process to track our global workforce, as well as working cross-functionally with hiring managers and HR and recruiting teams on intake of new employees.

This extends to financial reporting, including analysis using transactional-level details to review performance against targets and offer insights that will guide decision-making across many teams.

Lastly you will play an outsized role in financial planning to offer employee count and cost forecasts across all of GAMMA.

As a member of the GAMMA Finance team, you will have an opportunity to shape our processes, procedures, and system tools as we continue to grow into a fully-fledged finance and analytics team.

You will need to operate at both a strategic and tactical level to gather financial data and meet critical deadlines. You will have an opportunity to offer valuable insights to influence decision-making and build trust and accountability.

Job responsibilities include :

  • Support for GAMMA’s planning process, including full-time employee count and cost consolidation and forecasting, specifically ending and average counts, intake of new open roles, and attrition assumptions.
  • A business partnership role to provide ongoing decision support for GAMMA’s HR and recruiting teams, including bi-weekly touch points on latest recruitment efforts and maintenance of our open roles dashboard.
  • Tracking GAMMA’s full-time workforce management, including product or function allocations, plus incorporating timesheet data, to understand how our momentum and open roles is trending against targets.
  • A controllership role for ongoing setup and reconciliation of HR financial data between BCG’s ledger and HR system (Workday), such as change requests, as well as for accurate bill rates and office hosting costs.
  • Helping build an end-to-end workforce process that integrates BCG’s transition to Workday and GAMMA’s staffing initiatives, including the opportunity for new tools for seat control and multi-year forecasting.
  • Collaborating on the weekly and monthly publish of financials and relevant reporting, followed by historical and forward-looking analysis especially of employee cost across products, functions, and regions.
  • Supporting stakeholder management, including cross-functional directors and senior managers, to provide timely status of new and replacement open roles and making recommendations to stay in line with budget.
  • Championing new ways of working and thinking with respect to financial planning and analysis.

  • Open-minded and inquisitive, and willing to offer up ideas or processes on how to do things differently
  • Project management, including proactively communicating status of deliverables and roadblocks
  • Process rigor, with an eye for simplification and automation, along with careful attention to detail
  • Strong Excel and Power Point skills, and comfortable with data analysis, pivot tables, and formulas
  • Thriving in a changing environment, including switching to new priorities as needed while descoping others

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Business, or similar fields
  • Additional professional qualifications such as an MBA, CPA, or Chartered Accountancy a plus
  • 6-8 years of experience in a related subject matter, such as financial planning and analysis (FP&A), preferred; prior experience in project or data management in a matrixed organization also strongly considered
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, including pivots and formulas, as well as PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Alteryx, Tableau, Oracle, Hyperion, and / or Workday preferred

    You will be working within a 5 to 8-person finance team made up of Analysts, Managers, and a Director. You will be working across multiple regions and functions including Finance, Accounting, IT, HR, Pricing, Risk, PMO, Product Delivery, Product Management, Engineering, Design, among others, as well as those on the Consulting side.
