Collaborate with production teams including merchandising team, technicians, operations, factories and QA partners.
Establish a close working relationship with product production team to ensure brand right quality.
Manage communication flow between offshore QA Auditors and production teams to improve speed of decision making.
Ensure finished products are in compliance with all design specifications and meet all required quality standards.
Follow up and distribute updated information / changes to both onshore and offshore teams.
Report on factory quality performance, carryout risk analysis of supply vendors and formulate corrective action plans where required.
Support and advise Production team in new factory evaluations.
Support Factory to follow proper production process controls.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the operation and administration of QA function for their product area.
Observe, evaluate and help correct Factory internal Process controls in partnership with Director of Operations, Regional FQA Supervisors and FQAs.
Work with merchandisers, vendors, suppliers and manufacturers during seasonal cycles to anticipate, prevent and resolve quality problems.
Liaise with offshore QA’s / Production on quality issues, advise on commercial standards.
Liaise with production team on impact of failed audits, review and follow up on quality issues.
Attend seasonal line review / PP meetings onshore or off-shore if possible.
Filter and communicate key information to regional QA inspectors.
Communicate quality requirements, inspection policies and procedures to new factories to ensure that production will meet company’s requirement.
Arrange evaluation on potential vendors in the areas of compliance.
Assist merchandising team in sourcing new vendor / factories.
Field visits and meetings with vendors / factories on quality issues.
Provide comments and direction on quality issues to offshore QA’s and VCA’s.
Collect relevant product technical information to support updates to product manual.
Follow up with factories on any development centre inspection quality callouts
Assist VCP Coordinator in selection and training of VCA’s.
Counterfeit sample verification.
Arrange QA to supervise disposal of seconds.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Diploma holder in relevant field. Industrial Engineering preferred.
10-12 years’ relevant working experience
Experience in apparel production and special projects on efficiency and SWAT support
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build strong relationships with multiple internal and external parties
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluency in both spoken and written English
