This role will manage and drive the delivery of FibrePB Portfolio & Demand stories within FND IT delivery which are scoped in OPENREACH releases at RPM’s or via Prioritisation Change Requests on time and on budget and to the highest quality.

The role will own stories through the development and test phases ensuring successful delivery to production within the release that they are scoped followed by a period supporting live usage of the stories to ensure production stability.

Delivery responsibilities include ensuring that IT development, E2E Test, PDT and other SDLC (including support) activities are co-

ordinated; Working with CTIO Leads and CE leads to ensure UAT and Service Introduction activities are co-ordinated & signed off.

What you'll be doing

Aligned to FND Domain, take delivery ownership of all stories owned by the Domains that are scoped in an OR release either at the RPM or via a Prioritisation CR.

Engages with CTIO Domain teams to track and monitor the status of stories in the lead up to the RPM to ensure that all stories are ready for RPM.

Ensures that story and technical dependencies across domains are identified and resolved / tracked so that story delivery is not put in jeopardy.

Obtain component and test commits as an output of the RPM and in the weeks following the RPM.

Track progress of stories that are scoped into the release which are not 95% complete taking the necessary actions.

If full commit for stories is not forthcoming, seek alternative delivery options to utilise commits that have been provided.

Seek financial approval of CE stories that have been committed to a release then progressing them on STORM thus enabling Component Teams to work on them.

On successful delivery of stories ensure that Acceptance Criteria are all progressed on STORM thus enabling the stories to be closed.

Provide support to the Change Control Process taking appropriate actions when CR’s are approved.

Closely monitor story progress through the lifecycle taking appropriate actions if issues arise which put delivery in jeopardy.

Work closely with CTIO and CE Leads to ensure they are aware of story progress and support any scoping decisions required.

Track Problem Reports raised as a result of testing taking appropriate action if fault resolution is not provided in a timely manner.

Ensure that Delivery Trackers / Tools are kept up to date to provide an accurate reflection of story delivery.

Responsible for the successful deployment of fully e2e tested code into production, post release stability and maintenance releases.

Engage with Release Deployment Teams to keep them informed on CLOUD stories, Interlock Testing and any other information relevant to the release.

Participate in Deployment Weekend activities leading Post Deployment Testing calls.

Ensuring resolution of Bridge Cases raised during stabilisation period (4 weeks post deployment of core Release, 1 week post deployment of Maintenance Release)

Risk management

Day to day management of one or more direct reports, as well effective management of virtual teams, partners, and vendors.

Demonstrates excellent communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization reaching out when needed to resolve issues.

Demonstrable and proven delivery management skills with a track record of successful deliveries.

Exposure to varied development methodologies Waterfall, Agile, DSDM.

Shows strength in negotiation both internally and externally to ensure successful resolution of issues prior to escalation, ensuring that the wider business imperative is not undermined.

A clear understanding of the business imperatives and how they align with the wider company strategy.

An extensive knowledge of the OSS stack.

The ability to build a strong and effective network of relationships that can be exploited to ensure that issues get addressed more quickly.

Commitment to the role with regular out of hours working during Deployment weekends.

Focus on driving solutions rather than highlighting problems, working collaboratively across Clusters.

Coach, develop and mentor direct reports and team, sharing best practice

Measures delivery of major and maintenance releases on time and to budget.

A Quarter on quarter % reduction in post deployment faults.

Working with the Platform Directors and components team to improve the quality of the release with a significant reduction in the number of e2e defects identified in e2e test.

Identification of a number of initiatives that will improve the efficiency within the hub that will improve work life balance and reduce costs within the hub.

Work with platforms and clusters to improve delivery throughput Release on Release and reduce £ / FP.

Qualifications : BE / BTech / ME / MTech

BE / BTech / ME / MTech

Good to have an Advanced certification in industry-recognised standard (CSM, Prince2)

Relevant professional experience.

Skills / Experience :

Sound Tools Knowledge (HP ALM)

Good understanding of telecom concepts and OSS / BSS testing

Shares own expertise with others, can mentor others.
