Amazon is looking for a world-class engineering leader to run International Consumer's Automotive Engineering program and engineering teams, as part of the InTech organisation.

Based in Bangalore, this role will manage teams supporting the EU, India and Japan businesses, with future global growth expected.

As InTech's most senior India leader, this role will also serve as the side leader for all of InTech's BLR programs. Our current programs (Vendor Success, Vendor Services), along with future InTech-

BLR programs, will have a dotted line into this leader.

As our site continues to grow and mature, this leader will play a critical role in InTech's global leadership team. This role reports into an EU-

based engineering director, and works closely with product owners in Luxembourg, Bangalore and Tokyo. This role also requires very close collaboration with NA Automotive (Seattle), as we move into a model of global delivery and distributed systems ownership.

As the single-threaded owner of a strategic worldwide initiative, you will co-own strategy, design and execution with your business partners and worldwide technical peers.

Your technical strength will be a key ingredient of your success, as you will be deeply involved in design of features, workflows and architectures.

You will build and manage local engineering teams spanning SDM, SDE, TPM, PM-T and other tech job roles as required. With your team, you will build and drive roadmaps with business partners around the world.

You will fully own your engineering strategy and you will lead your engineers to design and architect the right solutions.

You will define and launch high-quality product on time and within budget. You will help break down large, complex and ambiguous problems, and solve them using data and expertise.

You will strike the best balance between innovation, operational excellence, and leverage of Amazon technology, in order to build solutions that are robust, secure, efficient, scalable and compelling for customers worldwide.

This leader will play a major role on the VP of International Technology’s (InTech) Leadership Team as the Site Manager for InTech’s Bangalore presence, an engineering team spanning 5 teams and 50+ engineers.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for advising and supporting the technical growth and best practices of the teams on the ground, working with InTech Leadership to drive the development of a world-

class engineering organisation. You will also be expected to actively participate / lead on InTech's worldwide programs (e.

g. Operational Excellence, Hiring, IMR, Engineering Excellence, Talent Development) as part of our global leadership team.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record building and running highly scalable technical products, strong leadership and technical skills, high independence, strong backbone, great judgement, great collaboration skills, and a drive to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

  • Partner with business leadership to understand business requirements, track industry developments, stimulate innovation, influence product vision, and deliver strategic solutions worldwide.
  • Drive high standards through your recruitment and professional development of your technical teams, aligning closely with Amazon's larger technology organisations.
  • Think big and build big for the long term, while maintaining nimbleness to experiment and deliver small and valuable new features for customers.
  • Develop quality engineering approaches that best fit business’s strategic direction.
  • Define, drive and oversee a broad range of service integrations, systems improvements and customer-facing features.
  • Build innovative solutions which leverage Amazon's technology platforms, tools, and processes.
  • Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments.
  • Operate at all levels of the technology stack, including front-end user experience, mobile applications, and back-end services.
  • Provide visibility on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to leadership team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or the equivalent.
  • 5+ years as a professional software developer (or equivalent hands-on technical role).
  • 5+ years as a software development engineering manager, including 2 years managing multiple development teams.
  • Track record of shipping high-quality, highly-scaled, web-based or service-based software.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or MBA
  • Experience with e-commerce, payments, or financial services
  • Experience working in the EU, and working with international business partners
