  • PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Business Intelligence (BI) Team is responsible for developing the data warehouse architecture that brings together multiple data sources from operations around the world to streamline decision making and standardize business-critical reporting.

    As a Business Intelligence Intern, you will play a key role in supporting activities that span documentation, development, and validation of these key data sources and their related visualizations.

    You'll work with contacts in a variety of areas, including product management, commercial and sales teams, manufacturing operations, HR, finance and others.

    More specifically, you will :

  • Contribute to company-wide strategic data management and governance projects.
  • Assist in the daily operational activities of the BI Team.
  • Research and understand the business problems of BI stakeholders and perform ad hoc analyses that assist with overall solution development.
  • Create documentation regarding datasets and analyses.
  • Design, enhance, and maintain new and existing dashboards / reports in Power BI and other visualization tools.
  • Assist in data cleansing and manipulation to support ongoing data quality initiatives.
  • Proactively identify areas / processes that can be made more efficient and develop alternative solutions.
  • Participate in continued education advancement in topics relevant to BI and data management.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

    Beginning- to Intermediate-level skills in :

  • Report or dashboard development in Power BI or similar visualization tool.
  • Visualization techniques that leverage excellent space and design principles to maximize the user experience.
  • Excel, with the ability to use advanced functions.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Understanding of basic business, financial, and / or accounting principles.
  • SQL and data management experience a plus.
  • Other competencies :

  • Exposure to BI concepts through development projects, course work, or other experience.
  • The ability to articulate clearly, concisely, and professionally in both written and verbal communications.
  • Creativity and curiosity.
  • The ability to multitask and learn independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivation and a drive for results.
  • Accountability and attention to detail.
  • The ability to take instruction and contribute as a team player.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Interest in the manufacturing industry or global business administration a plus.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree in Business or Finance / Economics / Accounting with an emphasis in Business Analytics, Statistics, or Data Management (preferred);
  • other degrees will be considered if in a related field : MBA is a plus.
