Amazon India is seeking an entrepreneurial and dynamic leader to join the Softlines Private Brands team at Amazon to help build brands that our customers will love and trust.

The Manager, Category Management leads a team of category managers in managing the portfolio of Private Brands in apparel, footwear and accessories.

S / he will use category and customer insight to identify new product opportunities and bring them to market, coordinate product development across cross-

functional teams, and help invent new solutions to grow the business. S / he is responsible for driving growth in existing categories and expanding Private Brands presence to new categories.

S / he owns the customer experience delivered by Private Brands and will take steps to improve the representation of our products on Amazon.

Primary responsibilities :

  • Build a thorough understanding of market segments, seasonality & global trends, customer cohorts, and competitor activities
  • Develop new products based on Amazon data, market trends and customer needs analysis, and create viable business cases for each.
  • Manage product life-cycle from ideation phase through to commercialization, across multiple subcategories in apparel, footwear and accessories

  • Manage the different operating models within Private Brands, helping to define overall strategy and establishing clear annual execution plans within each
  • Own and manage a portfolio of private label products that deliver best-in-class customer experience. Drive data quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with and influence several internal and external stakeholders including sellers, fashion designers, supply chain, marketing, legal, Softlines category teams and Global Private Brands teams
  • Design and implement new processes to help scale our business
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA in Marketing, Strategy or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in product development, marketing, brand management, sales management or related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage evolving priorities
  • Ability to operate strategically and tactically. Experience making things happen in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust at all levels.
  • Experience using metrics to drive business decisions. Proficient in Excel and other data analysis tools (SQL)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience launching packaged products and / or building out a new brand in a retail environment
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves to execute initiatives, perform quantitative analysis and reach sound conclusions
  • Skilled in managing multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization / time management and problem solving skills
  • Strong P&L management; specifically, cost structure and ability to create proposals focusing on holistic margin
  • Demonstrated ability as a people manager
  • Prior experience in Fashion is a plus
