Job Description

As Sr. Software Engineer you will develop specific customer analytic dashboards that will assist with patient treatment in all regions of the world.

Theseproducts are fully developed at the Pune R&D Center and are used globally in hospitals and cancer centers. You will collaborate with other engineers, and clinical experts in an agile environment.

Further, you will interact with other project team members as required. Responsibilities :

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Deliver high quality software data analytic dashboards for consumption by Varian’s global customers.
  • Produce high quality software primarily using Tableau, SQL Server and other technologies(SSIS, SSAS, etc.) if required
  • Work with Varian’s customers, product managers and R&D teams to continuously identify opportunitiesfor improvement of Varian’s enterprise software architecture
  • Working with business users to develop data visualizations, dashboards and reports using Tableau
  • Work closely with the international clinical specialists to identify key service offerings that drive adoptionof Varian's data analytic tools.
  • Troubleshoot report errors, installation issues of analytic platforms, and dashboard discrepancies.
  • Responsible for the design, development and deployment of List, Cross Tab, Charts, Dashboard andmulti-dimensional reports
  • Using Tableau features to design, develop and support Tableau visualizations, analytical dashboards andhighly interactive dashboards
  • Integrating Tableau to SQL, CSV files, SSAS Cube and building reporting and analytical dashboards
  • Understand and implement System specification, application design and development, performancetuning and produce high quality deliverables
  • Do impact assessment, design, build test and deploy New and enhancements of Tableau Dashboards
  • Troubleshooting the current issues and doing performance turning and should have sound knowledge ondatabase concepts and complex queries

  • Troubleshoot product / component issues in a timely fashion without impacting customer expectation
  • Resolve defects with good understanding of design and support root cause analysis as required
  • Provide high confidence estimate of the deliverables based on the effort against the activities involved
  • Collaborate effectively with every member of the local and international teams and others as required
  • Follow established processes and guidelines along with applicable procedures and work instructions
  • Ensure organizational compliance to Varian policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Job Requirements

    Qualifications Required : B. Tech, B.E., MCA in Computer Science or related discipline.

    Experience (Years) :

  • Maximum 6 years of software industry exposure in a product development company or start-up company
  • 2 years of experience in producing high quality SQL queries on SQL Server
  • 2 years of experience in producing advanced tableau dashboards
  • Technologies required :

  • Hands-on : Tableau server and desktop
  • Hands-on : SQL queries including complex views and stored procedures
  • Knowledge of Data warehouse using SQL Server
  • Knowledge of SSIS
  • Knowledge of SSAS
  • Knowledge of programming language (preferably C#)
  • Skills : Things incumbent must be able TO DO to perform successfully on the job

  • Strong problem-solving skills in software development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Should be well versed with SDLC
  • Self-motivated with eagerness to learn technology
  • Good experience in Customer management and communication
  • Strong understanding of the software development process with exposure to agilemethodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban
  • Ability to work independently as well as participating in a team of professionals
  • Experience working with large databases and data warehouses in SQL Server
