MS Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business.

The department is comprised of 10 organizations : Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office.

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology works with large scale databases such as DB2 and SQL Server, proprietary and non-

proprietary messaging software, a broad variety of vendor products, numerous financial exchanges and regulatory entities, and programming languages ranging from .

Net and Java to Cobol and VB.Net.

Responsibilities include :

WM Deployment Operations - DeployOps

  • Support all aspects of software and configuration deployment for Wealth Mgmt Technology
  • Escalation support for L2 staff performing deployment functions
  • Troubleshoot Windows and Linux business applications during major releases
  • Develop scripts and utilities for automating deployment and operational tasks
  • Participate in outage calls, perform technical root cause analysis
  • Provide platform and infrastructure support for WM technology plants
  • Provide runbook and KT documentation for L2 staff
  • Build and manage distributed platforms
  • Evaluate new work coming into Deployment Operations and develop deployment / support processes
  • Provide updates to senior management during release events
  • Collaborate with various external L3 support teams during triage and outages
  • Qualifications

    Primary Skills / Must have

  • Senior level experience in operating distributed technology platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and / or Linux or both
  • Advanced knowledge of web container technologies - IIS, Apache / Tomcat
  • Familiarity with Database technologies for supporting web applications
  • Experience with scripting technologies - Shell, Powershell
  • Experience with Splunk or equivalent monitoring UI tools
  • Ability to capture and analyze forensic data wireshark, memory / heap dumps, etc.
  • Ability to participate in outage calls and drive resolution
  • Ability to communicate and document root cause analysis
  • Working knowledge of Load Balancer and networking concepts (TCP / IP, traffic routing)
  • Knowledge of authentication protocols Kerberos, SSL, etc.
  • Ability to understand and document operational metrics and KPIs
  • Secondary Skills / Desired skills

  • Experience with Cloud computing technologies
  • Experience with Devops CI / CD technologies
  • Knowledge of Data Integration methods ETL, Data Lake technology
