Position Summary

  • Ensures customer expectations are set and consistently met or exceeded
  • Participates as the technical expert in delivering projects to expectations (budget, resources, and schedule).
  • Helps lead the Problem Management area of operations by driving root cause analysis of issues and working to analyze / provide recommendations to improve efficiencies and resolve problems
  • Ensure that solutions are aligned to IT and business goals and objectives
  • Analyzes and creates deployment and management strategies for PC’s, MACs Tablets and Mobile Devices
  • Ensure that the tactical and strategic goals and vision for the portfolio of Desktop Engineering products and services are aligned with the IT strategy and goals
  • Ensure the creation, maintenance and socialization of roadmaps
  • Ensure that standards are defined, agreed upon and communicated
  • Plan, design and build enterprise class solutions
  • Research, evaluate and prototype products and services
  • Evaluate technology risks, ensure that mitigation plans are in place and escalate when necessary
  • Ensure the creation of high-quality core documentation, processes and procedures
  • Ensure principled, well documented, and predictable releases across all product lines
  • Ensure that risks and security issues are escalated appropriately
  • Responsible for the dissemination of IT best practices, system administration, training, and knowledge transfer to Tier 2 and Tier 1 staff as appropriate
  • Qualifications

  • Requires 5 - 7 years of experience working within Desktop Engineering, End User Computing, Workplace Engineering, Platform Engineering, and / or Systems Operations environments
  • Must have 1 - 2 years of experience leading and successfully delivering complex initiatives, not just participating or commenting form the sidelines
  • Excellent communicator - ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with people at all levels in the organization, both inside and outside of technology
  • Security and Customer mindset - recognizes that factoring in the potential security risks and customer impact / benefits associated with introduction of new / modification of existing, solutions (technologies, processes, etc.
  • is a key element of this role.
  • Experience supporting PC’s and Apple platforms such as iPads, iPhones, MacBooks, iMacs and Smartphones utilizing IOS and Android systems
  • Self-directed and impose standards of excellence regarding performance
