Transfast, a fast growing cross border funds transfer and Payments Company, expanding at double-digit pace, is looking for a full-
time Legal Attorney to take on a role as Legal Officer on legal matters affecting the Legal Department and assist with legal issues as they affect other departments throughout the company;
including the Legal Compliance Department’s needs for interpretation and analysis of laws and regulations.
Responsibilities include :
Duties of Legal Officer
Review legal documents; primarily contracts with International correspondents and non-disclosure agreements
Perform careful and detailed review of legal documents to identify potential risks to the Company
Ensure that the legal documents under review coincide and are revised according to the Head of Legal guidelines.
Work with the Legal team to discuss and address potential risks and issues.
Draft legal provisions and language as the need may arise and become necessary
Research regulatory and legal requirements affecting legal documents.
Participate in meetings with counterparts to discuss and negotiate terms of contracts.
Maintain communication with our business representatives, ensuring they are aware of potential operational and other issues that may need to be addressed before signing contracts.
Be part of consultation conferences to discuss legal issues.
Manage and keep track of work pending and work completed to draw statistics and provide performance details as required by SLA / Agreed Conventions
Desired Skills and Experience :
3+ years' experience in related legal field
3+ years’ experience working in corporate environment, preferably Money Services Business, or other related field.
3+ years working at a senior / team management level capacity.
Excellent knowledge of European and UK regulations, in particular those associated to money remittance company and payment service providers
Knowledge of international correspondence contracts very valued
Knowledge of risk management concepts
Ability to work under own initiative and experience when targets and tasks are set
Ability to effectively analyze issues and problems, and devise / implement appropriate solutions
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact with staff at all levels
