Job Description

Purpose - Broad objective of the role

Achieve the strategic, financial and customer satisfaction objectives for Tata Communications' Hybrid connectivity services product line : comprising of IZO SDWAN, IZO WAN, IZO Private Connect and Global VPN.

The position reports to the leader of outbound product management for Hybrid connectivity services. The selected candidate will contribute to developing product strategy and roadmap, with responsibility of product P&L, and support complex sales and customer opportunities.

Both India and international customer and sales regions will be supported by the candidate.

Minimum qualification & experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering (mandatory)
  • A management degree (preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in product management / sales engineering / engineering roles, and solutions development involving cloud, telecommunications, and / or IT services.
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of Private (MPLS, Ethernet) and Public (Internet) telecom products, architecture, features, and managed services.
  • Beneficial to have knowledge of managed security services, data center colocation and interconnection services including Cloud, Voice, Data, and Mobile, familiarity with the virtualized implementation of network functions.
  • Key Responsibilities

    1. Interfacing with key customers and prospects in the region. : Understand customer requirements, document key challenges and help develop solutions.

    2. Go to market and product strategy for the region.

    3. Bid & Customer proposal and bid support. : Be aware of price and competition trends, to gather requirements and identify areas for improvement, as well as providing input to business cases and future product direction.

    4. Work closely with sales, SDWAN OEMs (Cisco, Versa etc) and marketing : Product Marketing / Value Proposition / Market Intelligence.

    5. Knowledge of WAN and SDWAN technologies. : Understanding market and customer requirements, including emerging technologies and solutions

    6. Working on ongoing & new product development initiatives on IZO WAN / SDWAN. Develop and maintain a view of the customer by coordinating with inbound product teams with clear deliverables, stakeholders, defined outcomes and timelines.

    7. Conducting Sales / customer training and workshops

    5. Excellent written and verbal English skills, good planning and organizational skills, multi-tasking, and be able to produce comprehensive and informative documents.

    6. Ability to understand basic engineering concepts and run business cases

    7. Ability to define a go-to-market model- within the existing sales / channel strategy; and to support bid management processes and customer interactions.
