Position Summary

Please explain in two sentences the main purpose of this position.

The overall responsibility is to manage the Vehicle testing as per ITP. The main activities include :

  • To plan Stage wise testing on the vehicle and also plan and organize various testing as per laid down procedures.
  • Validate and Provide input for Routine Test Documents Prior to Final release of Routine test documents
  • Ensure the Testing Boxes used are validated in line with Testing Documents and Approved
  • Ensure that testing Team is well trained to carry out various testing of train and the team takes all requisite safety
  • during testing.

  • Ensure process time is validated for each and every activity performed related with testing
  • Ensure the feedback received from PI is discussed with the team on regular basis and improvements / check points if
  • any be incorporated during the testing.

  • Ensure that all the test equipments used are always in servicable condition and all the precision equipments are
  • calibrated as and when required.

  • Ensure that all the test carried out in the facility are in accordance with local safety procedure.
  • Ensure that the Testing Team gets regular training for the testing with respect to various updates / modifications in
  • the equipments by the suppliers.

  • Ensure Testing all the cabinets and distribution boxes as per the latest revisions.
  • Ensure all required documents are placed in History Book.
  • Responsibility :

    1. Ensure Testing of various cabinets and distribution boxes as per the latest revisions 40%

    2. Ensure all test equipments are always in serviceable condition and calibrated as and

    when required.

    3. Ensure that testing Team is well trained technically to carry out various tests taking all

    requisite safety aspects and also gets regular training with respect to various updates /

    modification in equipments.

    4. Ensure maintenance of the History Book. 5%

    Number of years of experience required :

    With min 12-15 years out of which min 10 yrs in leadership positions and min 5 years within QA / Testing in a Rolling stock

    Industry, Experience in Metro Testing in Railway industry beneficial,

    Technical skills / knowledge (if required) :

  • Solid Knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001 : 2008
  • Improvement skills(e.g. Six Sigma)
  • Ability to supervise the test of cabinets and cublies / cable harness / jumper cables using automatic tester
  • Ability to start up, enter data and generate reports using work specific computer software / specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawing
  • Ability to understand and analyze quality issues
  • Ability to supervise critical high voltage test at train level
  • Experience in working in an international environment
