Applications Systems Administration
The Applications Systems Administrator will use knowledge ofapplication design and application middleware to support critical businesssystems. This role requires experience with the key services involved inboth single and multi-tier applications including what they are, how theyinteract, how to monitor their performance and how to manage theirbehavior. Based upon strategic direction and initiatives you must be aleto deliver tactical results of agreed upon objectives.
A thorough knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies, aswell as practices, is essential.
•Install, configure and administer enterpriseapplications and middleware.
•Configure and manage WLS and its components
•Tune WLS server subsystems for performance
•Install and patch Fusion Middleware software asneeded
•Use monitoring tools to observe, troubleshoot andtune application environment.
•Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve serverproblems.
•Bachelors Degree in Information Technology,Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
•Three or more years experience working withWebLogic and Fusion middleware
•Three or more years experience with or more ofthe Oracle eBusiness Suite, Hyperion, OBIEE, Siebel a plus
•Three or more years experience supportingmulti-tier architecture.
•Experience with OEM and Grid control a plus
•Fundamental understanding of computer networking,systems, software development lifecycles and database technologies.
•Ability to handle multiple tasks
•Excellent communications skills.
This position requires excellent verbal and written communicationskills, strong customer service focus, and ability to work in a team as well asindependently, ability to learn on the fly, ability to follow procedures, andability to suggest improvements to existing procedures as appropriate.
•Enterprise Application Support (Sieble, Hyperion,etc)
•Oracle eBusiness Suite or PeopleSoft a plus
•Weblogic 10.3 / 11
•Oracle grid control
•Oracle Enterprise Manager
•Experience with any other Fusion Middlewareproducts is beneficial
•Any Oracle certifications a plus
Candidate will be responsible for delivering application systemadministration and engineering services to customers within the Oracle Advanced Support Portal. The candidate will also be responsible for interactingwith customer counterparts on a regular basis and serving as the technologyexpert on the customer’s behalf. This service is delivered via remotesupport and the candidate should be able to work in an independent environmentwhile interacting with other team members remotely.
There is no formal dress code for this position, however the candidatewill be required to follow customer dress codes in the event that they will beasked to travel to the customer site.
OvertimeThis position requires the successful candidate to bewilling to work a flexible schedule and be available for on call support 24 x 7if required. This support may involve overtime but the goal will be tokeep this to a minimum
