Job Description
We are looking to hire a Senior Backend Software Engineer who has technical experience, to work on Banking implementation projects in the area of Web Banking.
You will work together with various other teams as the Customization teams as well as the product development teams in Zurich, Edinburgh and Manila.
The whole group is responsible for developing and maintaining our Avaloq solutions.
You are responsible for the implementation of the core technical components and solving technical challenges within the Web Banking application.
You support the developers on the technical topics / new technologies as necessary
You ensure code quality through extensive code reviews.
You contribute to the migration towards a microservice based architecture for both existing and new functionality.
You work in agile environments and work on user stories with impact on architecture.
You contribute to architecture standards and best practices together with the Web Banking architect.
You serve as a fully seasoned / proficient technical resource, providing technical knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor
What you need
University degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent
At least 5 years of work experience in Banking
In-depth knowledge and experience with Java / JEE / Spring Boot.
Experienced with REST Services, JSON, JPA
Solid understanding and / or any working experience on designing and / or developing application based on microservices using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka and Red Hat Open Shift is an advantage.
Proven record of applying those technologies in enterprise projects
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Willing to learn new technologies and solve challenging problems
Open minded and can work with people from all cultures and different backgrounds, international experience is a plus
Good team player and can collaborate well with peers and development teams
Goal-oriented and has a strong focus and commitment
Friendly and willing to share knowledge and help other members
Professional communication skills in English
You will get extra points for the following (nice-to-have)
JavaScript and Angular knowledge / experience is a strong plus.
Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL / SQL knowledge / experience is advantage
