The Content Systems team builds the tooling and infrastructure to deliver and schedule critical product and merchandising information across Amazon retail websites, on different devices (e.
g. FireTV, Kindle), and AWS to name a few. We focus on content management tools, back-end delivery, optimization systems, and CDNs for hundreds of Amazon teams and we are looking for a Technical Program Manager who can help us drive the challenge of constantly innovating content systems that power Amazon.
In this high impact leadership role, you’ll drive multiple projects with out customers and partners, help a talented team of software engineers to deliver innovative solutions to ambiguous, complex problems.
You will have end to end ownership of cross-functional projects, including product definition, roadmap planning, resource planning and project execution.
Create plans that have clear, measurable success criteria, and clearly communicate progress and outcomes;
Drive best practices on the team, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks;
At the heart of this role is delivery. You will be hands-on in driving the delivery of critical business initiatives, managing all aspects of the project such as project planning, requirements definition, risk management, communication, and implementation planning.
You will be a technical problem solver on the team, identifying innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving issues and constraints through consensus and sound judgment.
Write effective narratives and present them concisely and effectively to senior leadership;
Help teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood / documented, ineffective cross-
team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from of the use of third-party technologies, APIs not protected / hardened, insufficient testing / gaps in QA)
Define, measure, and improve Key Performance Indicators for the team.
You will work closely with the development teams and play a leadership role in product architecture and design.

10+ years of experience in software development of which 4+ years in a technical project / program management role in a related industry
Experience leading complex projects involving multiple geographically dispersed teams
Possess in-depth technical understanding of agile software development lifecycle and large scale Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Extensive experience defining programs and implementing them across a team focused on delivering outcomes that meet rapidly evolving customer needs
A proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and deliver results
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
A Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
A proven ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations
Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, technical leaders, and developers
Experience working with a full end-to-end e-commerce stack and web services
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
Experience in development of distributed / scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
