Cut & Sew Men’s Senior Designer
The Senior Designer will work with the Design Director, to create seasonal collections for the Men’s Cut & Sew category in Mainline.
In partnership with talented designers and cross-functional teams with a passion for fashion, you will create and deliver innovative ideas to products.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Responsible for the entire product design process including trend research, design boards, sketching, tech pack development, BOMs and fit in collaboration with Design Director
Understanding the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into appropriate and exclusive products
Ensure that product is consistent with seasonal concepts and storytelling as well as business strategy and vision
Provide innovative ideas and new concepts to build strong and elevated collection
Create computer technical packages and collaborate with internal and global cross-functional partners to develop 1st prototypes and showroom samples
Communicate and collaborate with merchandising, product development and technical design teams on regular basis
Partner with designers in other categories to ensure a cohesive Men’s collection
Lead a fitting with tech design and production team
Manage mid-level designers and give direction, oversee all work and development
Identify opportunities of process improvement and change, and initiate own proposals
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion design
7-10 years Cut & Sew design experience
Excellent experience and passion for working with Cut & Sew products
In-Depth knowledge of the delivery groups and concepts
Expert design, technical sketch and conceptual skills with high attention to detail
Advanced sketching skills in Illustrator
Strong sense of silhouette, color, material and trim
Excellent experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Excel and PLM
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage workflow in a team environment, working collaboratively to meet all deadlines
Enthusiasm for the Brand and bring strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Must have strong presentation skills
