Position Summary :
This position is primarily responsible for the management of a team of Linux systems administrators providing 24x7 support of operating system on physical and virtual servers and the hardware on physical servers.
The position reports to the Senior Manager of PPS TIE Infra Systems - Linux Operations. The majority of the systems in-scope for this position service applications developed and operated by the Customer Xperience Technology (CXT) department.
Major Duties :
Lead and own activities that drive operational excellence for server platforms through exceptional employee and customer experience.
Hold regular team meetings, 1-on-1 sessions, and performance reviews with direct reports.
Staff team appropriately with full-time employees, interns, co-ops and contractors and provide career mentoring to direct reports.
Execute against multiple projects in fast-paced, results-oriented programs.
Oversee operational requirements, assess the operational impact of those requirements, and derive KPIs associated with these requirements.
Be an active part of the Net Promoter System by joining huddles and elevating opportunities to better serve our customers.
Effectively bridge technical and business concepts according to the target audience.
Create reports for management to show team effectiveness.
Develop key program deliverables including business requirements, issue logs, training, communications, project schedules, and milestones.
Provide program updates to senior leadership on critical project and incident follow-up items.
Lead cross functional working groups to ensure goals are met in a timely and organized fashion - this may include contractors, Comcast employees and / or vendors.
Demonstrate technical expertise in server OS and hardware technologies.
Capture lessons learned and process changes for continuous improvement.
Demonstrate excellent strategic program management skills with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in scope and within budget expectations.
Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Very good experience in managing Unix / Linux teams supporting large infrastructure environment

Generally requires 6-9 years related experience.
