Big Data Support Engineer

Good in providing support to our customers for diagnosing, reproducing, and fix product and Hadoop / cloud related issues.

You will troubleshoot multiple types of environments and take ownership of problem isolation and resolution, and bug reporting.

Possess strong customer service skills and have excellent technical problem solving skills.

Your Responsibilities :

Work directly with customers via phone, WebEx, and email to resolve Zaloni Big data product related technical issues and identify defects .

Assist with resolving general product and cloud issues and frequently asked questions; take ownership of tickets until full resolution.

Assist in the maintenance of the Zaloni knowledge base, and create new articles based on recent customer issues.

Create advanced online technical content including Knowledge Base articles, training documents, blogs, etc.

Maintain strong working knowledge of all related products, technologies and upcoming releases. Take proactive ownership in identifying and recommending product improvements in key product areas based on key data points.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills while working with customers or the internal team

Collaborate with other parts of the Zaloni organization such as Module leads, CRR and the Support escalation team as necessary.

Work closely with team to identify, estimate and prioritize Issues and Tickets.

Work with our development team to resolve more advanced issues and when necessary need to write User Stories for Client Enhancement request.

Help team to improve on best practices - be it scripting, bug fixing or product installation.

Document and peer review troubleshooting and problem resolution steps.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Participate in planned team-wide shift rotations to cover business needs, including 24x7 on-call responsibilities and weekend work.

Your Qualifications

0-4 years of experience in Big Data Technical / Application with hands-on experience using one or more technologies like Java, Shell script, Python, Linux.

Experience with Hadoop, NoSQL, ETL, Streaming, Machine Learning or other Big Data / Analytics technology preferred. Applicant should have good understanding of the Big Data concepts -

HDFS Concepts, Hive, Pig, Yarn, MapReduce, Sqoop, Storm and Spark.

Knowledge of AWS or Azure. Networking concepts like Azure VNETs, NSG, DNS etc.

AWS related concepts like EC2, S3, ELB, VPC etc.

Azure Networking concepts like Azure VNETs, NSG, DNS etc

  • Working knowledge of REST API development. Understands the value of commitments to delivery made by the development team;
  • Preferred skills for our team :

    Prior customer support experience in Big Data or Cloud

    Scripting at the command line level for Linux.

    Knowledge of Hadoop, Python

    AWS, HDP or Cloudera administration certifications is an added advantage.,
