Job Family Descriptor

Responsible to create medium and long term optimal, cost effective and scalable network capacity plans both at Transmission and Service layers and provide innovative solutions for managing capacity requirements.

Manage Global Transmission / Service layer network capacities by establishing processes and review mechanism for bandwidth inventory, utilization reports, periodic audits and optimizations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Identify future backbone network requirements basis traffic forecasts, past trends and utilization reports to meet requirements for all line of businesses and recommend on-net upgrade (capex) / offnet (opex) leasing models in transmission core network for cost-effective and timely fulfillment.

Engage with LOB for Network strategy and development discussions, finalization of plans and budgets. Negotiation and Procurement of offnet backbone BW based on forecast and Engineering / LOB requirements and manage external supplier relationships.

Manage Backbone Opex budget efficiently against AOP plan with alignment to revenue plans and continuous improvement in offnet BW economics.

Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders for continuous improvements in working processes for enhanced productivity with the objective to ensure timely availability of network capacity for meeting customer-s and network requirements in most optimized manner, and meeting business demands seamlessly with compliance to processes and guidelines.

Broad outline of the Role

Coordinates weekly calls to report project status; Coordinates with the internal teams such as IPNOC, Service Manegement to discuss configuration and roll out of service.

Provides inputs on escalated planning-related network issues.Prepares the Capacity Guidance report to serve as input for capacity planning.

Has some previous work experience to allow them to apply their knowledge efficiently and work productively with broad instruction.

Regularly participates in projects or activities as a contributing team member. Assists supervisor to identify important issues or risks and providing feedback for improvement / changes in methods and teachniques.

Seeks the approriate level of guidance and advice to ensure delivery of quality outcomes. Operational role which is responsible for delivering results that have direct impact on the achievement of results within the job area.

Conducts activities such as preliminary research, analytics and documentation. Works under direct supervision Actively acquires more skills, techniques, operating practices, knowledge of abstract concepts in order to progress towards full in the field of specialisation.

Has skills and knowledge that will allow them to adapt to effecively deal with unfamiliar issues, challenges problems within their field of specialisation.
