Job Title : Business Development Manager

The Group : The Investment Management group consists of our investment advice and investment management capabilities. Through our registered investment advisor subsidiaries, we use our expertise in asset allocation, manager selection, and portfolio construction to create innovative investment solutions for institutions, advisors, and their clients.

Morningstar Investment Adviser India has recently acquired a PMS license from SEBI and launched its Managed Portfolios in India.

The business development team will be responsible for helping institutions & advisers build their businesses and provide better investment outcomes for their clients using Morningstar Managed Portfolios.

The Role : Our Investment Sales and Distribution team has an opening for a Business Development Manager. In this position, you will work with wealth management organizations, National Distributors and IFAs to drive net flows into Morningstar Managed Portfolios.

Through a combination of technical, product, and process knowledge, the role holder will seek to understand how advisers use our solutions to drive their business objectives, and then adapt and tailor a sales and distribution strategy accordingly to deliver managed portfolios.

This position will play an instrumental part in identifying, building, and maintaining relationships with new adviser clients.

We are looking for an ambitious self-starter with a stellar sales track record, a strategic sales approach, and a keen interest in business development.

Responsibilities :

  • Build proactive sales and territory plans to identify growth opportunities and drive business results.
  • Identify and convert adviser clients
  • Meet individual goals as measured by net flow targets
  • Meet other sales KPIs as required, such as forecasting, prospect calling, client visits, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting and forecasting of new and existing business activity.
  • Participate and present as required at adviser sessions and conferences.
  • Collaborate with investment and product management teams
  • Develop strong internal relationships and collaborate with product management, investment and operations teams to effectively articulate the value proposition of Morningstar Managed Portfolios.
  • Requirements :

  • Typically has 8 to 10 years of experience in sales and adviser distribution.
  • A self-starter with a stellar sales track record in business development within IFA / RD / National Distributor segment of Asset Management Companies
  • Sound knowledge of mutual funds and PMS
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with clients together will excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor. Results-driven with excellent attention to detail including an ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Educated to at least master’s degree in management or equivalent
