The Group Engineering Manager (GEM) will lead the engineering efforts and help drive vision, strategy and execution of PDF in Edge, Extensibility, Mobility / Cross-Platform and Edge EDU experiences in addition to several core Browsing Experiences like but not limited to FormFill, Reading, Annotation, Inking, Printing and Migration.
Reporting to and coordinating with the Edge India GM, the GEM in partnership with Edge India GPM, will be responsible for delivering on the browser product strategy for Microsoft s largest and diverse customer-base.
The Individual will be a key member of the leadership team, driving critical design initiatives, taking part in strategic &
tactical decisions, being accountable for shipping a complete product that succeeds with our customers. The candidate must have people management experience and strong product design & development skills
Strategic Leadership : Work with the leadership team to define Edge Mobility / Cross-Platform, EDU, Extensibility and PDF offering.
Drive strategy initiatives and provide thought leadership. Represent and communicate shared vision across the team and with stakeholders across the company.
Partner with Product and Engineering Managers : Work closely with product and engineering managers to deliver experiences and be accountable for the results.
Planning and Execution : Ability to think holistically and strategically. Leverage understanding of engineering rhythm so that the team operates at a high level, knowledge is shared appropriately, and decision making happens at the right levels on the team.
Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage complex technical products.
Communication : Able to conduct insightful, multi-faceted conversations with senior business and technical decision makers inside and outside Microsoft.
Conceptualize complex ideas quickly and convey those thoughts to others in a clear, and effective manner.
Collaboration : Effective collaborator able to work effectively across broad teams and influence stakeholders of all levels and of all disciplines across Microsoft.

15+ years of related product development experience shipping multiple projects
5+ years of people management experience
Expert coding skills in C++, Java, or C#
Strong project management and people management skills
Working in agile teams with strong customer focus
Experience working on cross platform applications or services used at scale
Experience with various aspects of web development or cross platform development or building large scale services in web, data or related areas or ML / AI is a plus.
Track record of building high functioning teams, including recruiting and retaining diverse talent base
Proven competency in strategic leadership, organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, drive for results, and written and verbal communications
Experience building software products with diverse engineering teams and stakeholders.
