About the role
Risk Engineering support of a global team of underwriters / account engineers concerning Swiss Re Corporate Solution’s General Property business by reviewing and summarizing third party information.
Summarizing this information by the use of CorSo's proprietary risk assessment tool and database.
Close interaction with regional Account Engineer where the respective accounts and deals are based.
In details risk engineering tasks include : Assessing Risk Quality for manmade and natural hazards Assessing Loss Estimates for costing and capital allocation Drafting recommendations on how to improve risk quality Occasionally, your expertise will also be applied directly for our insured clients by supporting the Account Engineer in state of the art loss prevention consultancy Applies RES unite de doctrine and quality standards regarding risk engineering work
Support of the global Risk Engineering Community by extracting and summarizing technical, claims or other information for the capturing in centralized databases
Occasional risk visits to keep abreast of market tendencies and developments
Proactively maintains and expands own expertise level
Utilizes appropriate specialist publications & data bases to achieve goals.
Takes care of document management and other administrative tasks in his area of responsibility
Applies the quality assurance tasks as outlined in the Q’ manual and other related documents

Preference for Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Industrial Engineers with hands-on production / maintenance / technical services experience in at least one industry segment, total relevant 3-
7 years' experience minimum.
Engineers with higher relevant experience can also apply, and would then be considered for a higher band, i.e. Band E.
Previous experiences as "insurance" risk engineer" or in "fire protection" is appreciated, but is not a necessity.
Candidates who had applied earlier can reapply.
Strong industry knowledge of one or more selected industries
Loss Prevention (Safety) expertise (fire protection, safety management)
International experience preferred
Good insurance knowledge would be a plus
English language proficiency
Good negotiating capability
Strong Team Player
