Tocontribute to the software development for one or more applications / productsacross the detailed design, build and unit test phases of the lifecycle.
To maintaina technical understanding of a component or sub-component within an application / product, providing support for technical queries, live incidents andproblems.
To ensurethat the technical integrity and quality of the applications / products ismaintained across their lifetime, contributing to the development of anytechnical changes being proposed.
To buildknowledge of how technical strategies are defined to provide business solutions.
Participatein technical implementation planning, ensuring that the integrity of liveoperations will be maintained.
Support thehandover of software into business-as-usual (BAU) operation, providing therelevant IT service teams with information and education relating to the systemtechnology and function.
Coordinationand resolution of the Problem Management of system problems.
Understandthe various phases of the software development lifecycle.
Undertakeimpact assessment of problem records against applications / products withindomain.
Review teststrategies to guarantee the quality of the delivered software assist in thediagnosis of system problems encountered during testing.
Collaboratewith other software engineers across teams to build technical solution.
Deliver toall software engineering quality standards / benchmarks.
Completeassignment work to budget, time and quality requirements. Document all work inaccordance with agreed standards, and with re-use in mind
Software development consisting of some of the following languages andtechnologies :
Stronglevel ofexperience of IT softwaredevelopment
Large-scaleblue-chip organisations such as Barclays
Broadknowledge of Barclays Group
BScdegree in relevant software engineering discipline, equivalent to UK 2nd classhonors
Formalqualification in area of specialism, e.g. Sun Java
