MiQ is looking for a Lead - Cloud Infrastructure, who can own all aspects of MiQ’s Cloud Infrastructure environment, network, security, and this is a key position in the IT team.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a breadth of skills, expertise, and experience in designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure in Cloud environments, their access control mechanisms and monitoring, auditing capabilities.

The candidate will have in depth knowledge of cloud architecture principles, would have led complex projects - e.g. migration from data centres to cloud or bringing up new cloud environments from scratch and scaled them.

The person would have organically grown through the ranks, having been

hands-on engineer to managing large scale software systems in on prem and cloud environments, has good people management and collaboration skills.

This person would be reporting to the IT director. Whilst based in their Bangalore office, this person will quickly be expected to make one’s presence known and felt across different technology teams in the Product &Tech org.


Your main responsibilities will include :

  • Ownership of MiQ Cloud infrastructure and environments
  • Responsible for designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure (network, load balancers,
  • firewall, config, servers, databases, storage) in Cloud environments and ensuring effective access

    control mechanisms are in place

  • Responsible for automation of monitoring, alerting, logging, and auditing capabilities for the cloud
  • environments and infrastructure

  • Collaborates with Security specialist to deploy strong security protection mechanisms in all cloud
  • infrastructure, ensures necessary tools, systems, process for security best practices are deployed

  • Collaborates with tech and Devops teams to drive key projects e.g. segregation of development
  • and production environments, migration to load balancer setup

  • Works with tech teams on cost management and cost optimisation of IT infrastructure
  • Scopes, plans, breaks down complex projects into smaller phases and milestones, prioritises and
  • gets the team to execute in collaboration with Tech and Devops teams

  • Expected to understand the overall MiQ business, and keep up to date with recent trends in cloud
  • systems and cloud architecture space


  • Inspire and lead a talented team of IT engineers
  • Set best practices for senior and junior engineers in the team, mentors, and coaches them as
  • required to meet growing business needs

    Technology expertise

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science / related field
  • Expertise in Cloud systems and cloud architecture best practices, certifications are preferable
  • Has led complex cloud infrastructure projects, proven track record of having handled large scale
  • software systems

  • Strong debugging skills, can skilfully get to the root cause and make recommendations to
  • address it

  • Good understanding of information and data security standards and knowledge in
  • implementing best practices, protocols and tools

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand roadblocks and generate effective
  • solutions

  • Extremely comfortable working and communicating with engineering teams, being able to grasp
  • and understand their challenges and influencing them to adopt best practices

  • Exposure in implementing Infrastructure as a code -IaC for offering services in seamless self
  • serve mode.

    People Management and Leadership Skills

  • At least few years of people management experience
  • Good collaboration and influencing skills able to give confidence to stakeholders on project
  • execution

  • Ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority
  • Communication, conduct and personality

  • Demonstrate ease in working in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated success in communicating
  • to P&T teams
