Department Description
The Fund Analyst team is part of the Product Management (equity and fixed income) based in London and Investment Specialist team in Hong Kong.
The team members support Investment Directors who in turn represent the Portfolio Managers in London and Hong in client meetings, etc.
The team members generate investment communication material on Fidelity funds i.e. fund performance commentaries, market updates, fund presentations and address ad hoc queries on funds, so as to help in asset gathering and asset retention.
The role is integral to the successful functioning of each product franchise.
Purpose of your role
The individual would be part of the Fixed Income fund analyst team and responsible for providing written content on markets and Fidelity’s Fixed Income funds for client reports, meeting documents etc.
The person is also required to generate / update fund presentations as well as address fund or market-related queries from customers.
The Fund Analyst would be responsible for generation and maintenance of baseline material on fixed income funds and supporting the production of other communication material.
Key Responsibilities
Experience and Qualifications Required
Master’s in Business Administration or equivalent desirable (preferable graduation in Economics, Commerce, Finance or Business Management) CFA qualification would be advantageous 5-7 years experience in fixed income research In depth knowledge of Fixed Income markets functioning and links between various macroeconomic indicators and their impact on fixed income instruments i.
e. Government bonds, corporate bonds, high yield bonds and index linked bonds Strong writing skills and ability to deliver quality material to specifications and to deadline Proven analytical skills and competent at analysing Fund-related data Familiarity with databases like DataStream, Bloomberg Familiarity with working on excel and knowledge of developing excel macros will be advantageous Focussed on providing high level of customer service.
Ability to think from a customer viewpoint and to understand the complexities of fixed income mutual fund portfolios Strong communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders based in global locations Proactive, willing to use initiative in keep abreast of developments in global economies and fixed income markets Strong team player, enthusiastic, dedicated and self-motivated Excellent problem solving skills.
