Program Overview
CHAI COVID-19 response team provides support to national and state governments to scale-up and strengthen Covid-19 diagnostics and treatment.
The three-fold objective of the program has its roots in the learnings of the Covid-19 experience. The last two years have witnessed continued support extended to the National agencies and sub-national agencies across partner states on Covid-19 preparedness and response across pillars of Diagnostics and Treatment.
Further, the Covid-19 pandemic has reiterated the threat of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. It has in turn underlined the need for patient centric diagnostics to reduce burden of exacerbated disease on the population.
This patient centric function of diagnostics further feeds into and is supplemented with public health surveillance allowing for the tracking of changing nature and prevalence of disease-causing organisms, and timely detection, containment, and response to outbreaks.
The project aims to leverage learnings from Covid-19 Diagnostics support to provide evidence-based support to partner Governments in achieving the goal of broader diagnostics strengthening and robust surveillance systems.
