Mission

Perform installation and maintenance of database server (Primarily Oracle)

  • Work closely with different development teams to understand database requirements and provide support
  • Be responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system
  • Monitor and respond to database systems incidents to ensure secure production services to the business
  • Be responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades
  • Be Responsible for implementation and release of database changes, as submitted by the development team
  • Provide support for Development environments Refresh of UAT / Staging / pre-prod environments
  • Carry out Database troubleshooting and problem root cause analysis
  • Work with infrastructure team (co-ordinate with application support team) to ensure that the associated hardware resources are allocated to the database to ensure high availability and optimum performance"
  • Profile

    Must have experience with the following :

  • RDBMS Administration ( Oracle / MS SQL / UDB DB2 / Informix )
  • Recovery Manager (RMAN), SQL loader and Data Pump
  • Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Data Guard
  • Database Migrations, Patching, Upgradation and Partitioning of Tables
  • System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM)
  • Database Performance Tuning using Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) and Stats Pack
  • Shell scripting and using KShell, Bourne Shell, Power Shell
  • Logical Backup and Recovery using Data Pump, Export / Import
  • Space, Undo, and User Management
  • Managing Redo and Archive log files
  • Net Configuration (Listener and TNSNames)
  • Advanced Knowledge of SQL and PL / SQL
  • Good knowledge of RDBMS Architecture concepts"
  • Experience in banking domain

  • Trouble shooting database issues
