The Management, Orchestration, Visualization and Analytics (ManOVA) Application Visibility and Reporting (AVR) team is looking for technically strong Software Engineer.
The developer will be responsible for maintain and support the analytics module of a large network security product.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Analyze, debug and fix customer cases that escalate from support field engineers to the Product Development group
Work in tight connection with customer support personnel
Perform fixes, changes and additions in existing product code
Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies
Perform other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Ability to analyze logs and catch subtle details that indicate cause and / or refer to common situations
Ability to familiarize with large existing code base
Good communication, presentation skills and ability to work well in a development team and with remote parties
Team player with great interpersonal skills
Experience with Agile methodologies and supporting tools - Advantage
Minimum of 3 years of significant software development and engineering experience
Solid hands-on C / C++ programmer Must
Experience as a user of Linux environments - Must
Experience in debugging C / C++ code with gdb and in analyzing core dump files
Knowledge of TCP / IP networking
Knowledge of SQL and SQL-based databases, preferably MySQL
Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (Perl, Python, ) - Advantage
B.A. / B.Sc. in computer science or electrical engineering
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table
Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material
