The successful candidate will have experience with design projects for industrial facilities, semiconductor fabs, manufacturing, and / or similar environments, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and collaboration.

You will be able to work within an established framework to complete tasks within the defined scope, schedule, and cost of the project.

As you learn and grow, you will have the ability to take on projects of increasing complexity and scale. The candidate must have good communication skills and be able to work with other engineering disciplines, sometimes across multiple offices.

Responsibilities

  • Creates detailed mechanical / process piping models, layouts, drawings, generating Bill of Materials reports, and creating isometric spool drawings.
  • Responsible for producing technical plans, specifications, drawings, and models that meet our specifications and client needs.
  • Applies standard design techniques and procedures and exercising judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to design concepts.
  • Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.

  • Checks design calculations and drawings verifying all applicable codes have been incorporated.
  • Coordinates needs and develops an understanding with other design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Architectural) for design package needs.
  • Ensures quality control by complying with team design and CAD standards.
  • Attend construction meetings and field observations of site and cleanroom environments to verify existing conditions and incorporate findings into design packages.
  • May troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction.

  • Limited travel is possible.
  • Qualifications

  • Diploma / degree in the Mechanical / Chemical Engineering field.
  • Related experience - 5-10 years.
  • Knowledge of chemical process systems control philosophy including P&ID development.
  • Demonstrated expertise with 3D modelling software such as SmartPlant3D, Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical and process piping systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of process piping design, detailing, and system layout.
  • Interest in acquiring deep knowledge of piping specifications of different materials.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Should be flexible to work in the evening hours to support the project needs.
