Responsibilities

Field Services support Engineers 20 primary responsibility is to provide support to an organization 20s IT systems to help them meet their business goals, this is done by ensuring that all computers and networks operate efficiently with high uptime.

As a desktop engineer, you may need to assemble and install client desktop computers and assist the end-user in securing their hardware.

This role also involves hands & feet support for various IT support teams to perform activities related to periodic maintenance to handling individual systems hardware, software, and network queries

1. To support daily technical support activities for computers & all other end point devices

2. Update the support ticket with the progress

3. To set up and test desktop computer peripherals

4. To perform the system changes adhered to organizational policies

5. Conduct remote desktop troubleshooting to en

6. Maintain technical documentation in association with other functional departments

Technical Skills

Hardware and Networking :

1. Ability to differentiate between different type of IT assets

2. Ability to identify & locate end point devices (mac address, physical and logical location)

3. Ability to install and configure end point devices

4. Ability to configure extended devices (such dual screen)

5. Ability to collect errors (from end points, applications, printers) & triage

6. Ability to utilize OEM tools, if any. Ability to run self-tests, as prescribed by OEM

7. Ability to carry out HW to isolate issues (through beep alerts or error codes)

8. Ability to fix Physical connectivity of LAN, phone, peripherals etc. (such as connect to NW port, connect to interfaces of parent / child devices)

Windows Operating System :

1. Ability to Install and troubleshoot different versions of Windows OS independently. E.g. Windows XP. Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows 11

2. Understanding of desktop applications and how do they work, installation & uninstallation

3. Understanding of domain setup & ability to add / remove computers to domain

4. Ability to update Group policies

5. Ability to carry out Disk management, Disk Encryption, Wireless configuration

6. Ability to check utilization and availability, ability to perform start up and shut down services by following SOP

7. Ability to deploy gold images on multiple desktops using SOP, Ability to install and configure client applications independently

Exchange and Mobility Clients :

1. Ability to Install and configure email client, troubleshoot connectivity issues

2. Understanding of different versions, limitations, features & license requirements of email client

Printer management :

1. Ability to troubleshoot and manage service calls for printers & copiers locally and remotely

Backup and Recovery :

1. Technical understanding of native backup management tools & different types of backup

2. Ability to isolate system issues to back up job issues

3. Ability to provide SOP based support for configuring & troubleshooting backup related issues

Audio, Video support :

1. Understand the functionality of Audio, Video
