The Boeing Research & Technology India team has an immediate opening for Factory Automation Engineer . The selected individual will develop solutions for controls of automated manufacturing cells & Lines dedicated for assembly of commercial airplane, defense, industrial and space products .
He / She / They will support in projects which involves development of engineering solutions to production systems and increase the operational efficiency of manufacturing facilities (OEE), improve / optimize the productivity of Boeing operations and manufacturing, improve process capability (Cpk).
In addition, the candidate will support senior members of the team in achieving the overall vision and direction of Boeing'
s Research and Technology development in the field of Advanced Production Systems.
This position will be based out of Bangalore, India and will work with other colleagues located in India, United States and other global locations.

Position Responsibilities :
Program and install PLCs including S7-1500s, S7-300 / 400 and ET200's.
Program and install Siemens HMI / SCADA systems including comfort panels, Remote Pendants and IPC's.
Develop User Interface's using Wincc prof / Wincc Adv.
Play pivotal role in hardware selection using entire Siemens automation portfolio. (For example., selection of standard electric motors, servo motors to high voltage and DC motors from Simotics product line)
Program and install SINAMICS converters including VFD, ASD, VSI & CSI.
Responsible for automation and controls system design, specifications, programming, simulation, testing, as well as start-up assistance.
Assist in defining the data structure layout and data flow model.
Participate in the Safety Lifecycle (SLC) activities related to PLC and shutdown system, which may include : LOPA / PHA, design, implementation, commissioning, MOC, and decommissioning
Responsible for development of electrical schematics using applications like Auto-CAD / E-Plan.
Assist development of control algorithm for automated equipment, complex Kinematic device, multi axis controller R&D projects.
Assist in maturing R&D projects to robust and standardized products.
Assist in developing a functional description of the automation solution such as the control scheme, alarms, screens, reports, and others.
Work on allied technologies like drilling, fastening, assembly, metal finishing, material handling, automated material movement, Vision systems & dispensing.
Integrate smart motors, pneumatic components and power tools (Example., JVL motors, SMC pneumatics, Destaco clamps, ATI tool changers & Altas copco)
Work closely with robot programmers to integrate PLC cell controllers to robot controllers.
Responsible for calibration, troubleshooting, testing, repairing and improving methods of sensing, measurements, and actuation systems and tools.
Support various application development / deployment tasks and maintain overall quality objectives of OTD / FTQ.
Provide detailed documentation to users on systems designs and programming.
Basic Qualifications (essential requirements a candidate MUST have to qualify for the position) :
Bachelors Engineering degree, Preferably ELECTRICAL / INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL, INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS, ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION.
6+ years of work experience in PLC, HMI, SCADA, Control Panels, AC / DC / Servo Drives, sensors & other field instruments.
Proficiency in software development, validation, verification, integration and commissioning of PLC / HMI, Failsafe systems, Drives and Motion controllers of Siemens product line.
Good command over tools like Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal), Wincc Professional / Advanced, Simatic Integrated Safety and S7 Simulators.
Proficiency in various programming methods like S7 Ladder Logic, Structured Text, FB's, SFCs, SCL, AML and Pack Client.
Experience working in an agile development environment using common tools such as JIRA and Git
Self-starter and strong desire to work on exploratory assignments; Motivation for innovation & new solution development, and working with cross functional teams across organization.
Worked on gathering detailed user inputs and requirements to improve, streamline and automate specific functional application areas.
Worked on providing inputs to security considerations and infrastructure impacts of requirements.

Experience in integration of SIRUS, STARTER / SCOUT and SIMOCODE hardware modules using its parametrization software.
Fair working experience in WinCC V7 or multi-platform SCADA, SIMATIC TIA and WinCC openness. SCADA IPC Packages.
Trained on S7 Advanced controllers like T-CPU (Technology PLC), NPU (neural processing unit) and MFP (ODK - Multifunctional platform CPU)
Hands-on experience in automation software development Kits (SDK's) applying high level languages like C++, Phython
Able to apply object-oriented concepts to add functionality to HMI's and dashboards.
Competent in integration of Cell controllers with Enterprise PLM / ERP / MoM systems using tools like Opcenter Execution Discrete (formerly known as "SIMATIC IT United Architecture Discrete Manufacturing") Camstar, SIMATIC IT, Preactor, QMS Professional, and R&D Suite.
Experience with OPC, custom implementation of API Interfaces, batch file Interfaces, and PI UFL for web scripting
Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware such as barcode scanners, printers, and MES Client PC's
Familiarity with data and data historians, MES, shop floor processes, documentation, OEE, and other manufacturing technologies and practices.
