Wells Fargo India and Philippines (WFIP) is an integral part of the Well Fargo Enterprise and provide Operations and Technology support to the WF Enterprise Business.

WFIP operates out of 4 sites across 2 countries and currently has 28,000 employee supporting all lines of business covering business operation, technology development and support.

Wells Fargo Middle Market Banking (MMB) delivers a comprehensive suite of products and industry expertise to serve the diverse financial needs of companies with annual sales typically ranging from $5 million to $2 billion.

As a leader in serving commercial customers, Wells Fargo offers financial services including credit and treasury management solutions as well as specialized expertise across industries including Technology, Food, Beverage & Agribusiness, Investor Real Estate and Government.

Middle Market Banking Credit Services (MMBCS) supports the Regional Coverage and Core Segments within Middle Market Banking.

As a whole, MMBCS is responsible for the production, management and servicing of an $8B+ portfolio.

The MMBCS team currently provides support to front office (bankers) through teams located in sites in the US on the West Coast, Central and East Coast.

Functions consists of underwriting, data gathering, internal customer service, portfolio management, client contact and loan servicing activities.

About the Role

Manages a team of 10 plus members focusing on providing pre-underwriting services / support to the front office bankers.

Process performed by team members will consist of reviewing existing borrowing relationships’ financial covenants and reporting requirements, assessing and gathering financial data required for underwriting, internal customer service, and ensuring complete financial packages are received for underwriting.

Team manager will oversee this process and focus on workflow inventory management, escalation resolution, liaising with U.

S based team, and reporting to higher management.

  • Business Delivery Demonstrate strong business knowledge in lending domainUnderstand business requirement and service level agreement and ensure adherenceConduct periodic business reviews with key functional stakeholders regarding overall business performanceCoordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders and onshore team to ensure the smooth running of the existing business

  • Contribute for talent hiring and training to meet the expectations
  • Responsible for team member engagement and career development including performance evaluations
  • Conduct regular meetings with SME’s / TM’s to identify opportunities to enhance
  • Operational Excellence Responsible for Operational Excellence, process improvement and redesign proactively identify, analyze and improve existing processes / process re-engineering
  • Risk Management Establish early warning mechanism through robust risk and opportunities process. Challenge identifying gaps, recommending gap closing.
  • Make sure team is always ready to meet the audit requirement and actively work to increase risk awareness across all TMs

    Market Skills and Certifications

    Essential Qualifications

  • Post-Graduation in Finance
  • Total experience should be 6-8 years
  • Minimum commercial lending experience of 5years and people management experience of 2-3 years
  • Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data
  • Strong data based decision making and communication skills required for stakeholder engagement
  • Good working knowledge in MS office. Advanced knowledge of excel, VBA etc is a plus
  • Flexible to work across WFI locations & shift timings (preferable)
  • Certification Six Sigma are added advantage.
