Aeris is looking for a strong Site Reliability Engineer who will work closely with development teams to identify and implement the latest tools, best practices, and processes to support faster software development and integration.
The Site Reliability Engineer will collaborate with the development engineers to support the packaging, deployment, monitoring, and system reliability scripting that will turn software into a complete deployable product.
This person will be accountable for production software deployments and be the go-to person for our Operations team for the ongoing management of our AerCloud stack.
Develop automation tools and framework to automate operational tasks, deployment of code, applications, services and machines which are distributed across multiple cloud and data center environments
Build auto-healing automation to support services deployed in a micro-service architecture using Kubernetes
Build metrics and define SLOs / SLIs in collaboration with product management / engineering teams to improve customer experience
Manage multiple product stack environments with a cross-functional integrity to the engineering functions
Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for code deployment, management and visibility of application services
Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues â€¢
Represent SRE in design reviews and work cross-functionally with Engineering teams on operational readiness
Collaborate with offshore operations and engineering teams to deploy builds in different environments and to implement follow-the-sun model
Document and manage software platform matrix and operational processes
Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline (CS, EE, Math, Physics, etc.)
6+ years' web deployment experience handling Site-Reliability / Production part of IT operations / DevOps.
Hands-on experience in deploying software in Private clouds and / or Public clouds (GCP,AWS)
Hands-on experience with Databases (SQL / NoSQL) : Oracle, MySQL , Hadoop, Cassandra
Hands on experience with Messaging system deployment and maintenance(Kafka+Zookeeper, MQTT, RabbitMQ)
Experience with containerization and containerized deployment orchestration(Kubernetes-GKE,AKS) using Terraform, Ansible, Helmcharts
Strong experience in setup and managing Test (Pre-Production) and Production environments
Strong experience with Apache / Tomcat / JBoss based web applications and services (SOAP, REST, etc.)
Strong experience in implementing continuous integration using Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.
Strong experience in GIT and parallel development , branching strategies and methodologies
Strong in writing deployment automation / orchestration scripts
Must have worked with security standards for Web Applications and Services
Experience in monitoring tools like Nagios, ELK+Filebeat, Grafana, Prometheus, StackDriver.
Strong communications, analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to adapt to time critical deadlines and changing priorities in fast pace environment.
Kubernetes experience is a big plus.
