Basic Purpose of Job :

The Emerging Lead within the OTC trade processing team in Global Process Delivery, focusses on ensuring the accuracy of the OTC trades and valuation.

The role involves interaction with various units locally and overseas. The Emerging Lead should possess the ability to learn new skills, embrace change and communicate effectively.

Accuracy, timeliness and delivery of client service are imperative in this position with intense focus towards Quality controls, documentation and process improvements.

Responsibilities & Tasks Include :

  • Carry out basic and complex processing and valuation functions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the team’s deliverables
  • Reviewing / auditting trades processed by other team members to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure OTC valuation team receives proper information to value OTC positions
  • Ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and write new procedures where required
  • Train new employees until they are prepared to handle function without oversight
  • Respond to internal queries from Accounting or Client Service teams
  • Respond to reconciliation breaks from internal recon teams regarding cash or position breaks
  • Resolution of queries with internal teams, clients, vendors, counterparties etc.
  • Answer and handle complex issues and queries and escalate as needed acting with a sense of urgency to meet required deliverables.
  • Quality control - Be able to audit the accounting / verification data input and establish control over the overall process accuracy within the KPIs agreed.
  • Coach and offer help to less experienced staff
  • Work closely with inter-departmental contacts to ensure that the required deliverables are delivered with high quality
  • Identify risk issues, breaches and act in accordance with the 'risk' escalation chain and operating procedures
  • Resolution of queries with internal teams, clients, vendors, counterparties etc.
  • Be accountable for assigned tasks and deadline.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader and bring issues that require management attention on a timely manner
  • Support the business to offer great quality client service and ensure that the assigned deliverables are planned and delivered efficiently
  • Be accountable for assigned tasks and deadline for self and for the team
  • Quality control - Be able to audit the accounting / verification data input and establish control over the overall process accuracy within the KPIs agreed
  • Documentation Be able to review and correct the process documentation such as process flows, Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and coach the team
  • Understand the end to end process and be able to seek support to clear out inter process upstream / downstream dependencies.
  • Suggest process improvements and be able to seek support to drive projects to create efficiencies / enhance controls

  • Understand the client requirements and guide the team towards efficiently managing its deliverables
  • Job Requirements : Education and Experience

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree or above
  • 5.5+ Experience in financial services and / or a back-office operations environment. Derivatives trade processing related experience is a must
  • Strong Excel skills would be an added advantage
  • Strong reconciliation and knowledge of financial concepts (Derivatives and Regulation) is required
  • Flexibility with shifts

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and possess strong problem solving and resolution skills.
  • Accumulate, retain and use knowledge of OTC derivatives associated with process.
  • Advanced working knowledge of accounting fundamentals with respect to the workability of various financial instruments, especially derivatives
  • Expert knowledge of Internal Systems, MS office (excel, word) and good working knowledge of MS PowerPoint. Knowledge of database management systems MS access / Visual basic / Macros would be an added advantage
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills essential
  • Data & Analysis - Posesses strong attention to detail. Demonstrate good analytical skills in resolving the team issues and facilitates decision making
  • Knowledge of derivative instruments (OTC in specific) is a must
  • Ability to manage time and work well in a fast paced, high volume atmosphere; prioritize effectively
  • Support the team management managing BAUs and projects.
  • Lead and support the Learning and Development initiatives for the team and demonstrate complete ownership.
