At Christian Aid we believe that to root out poverty from the world we must challenge and change the systems and structures that keep people locked in poverty.
We campaign in the UK, to tackle the drivers of global poverty, living out our faith by being part of creating change.
all fuelled by the same broken economic system. As followers of Jesus, we must put our faith into action, work with others and share our gifts and skills to push for the world as it should be, where we see the Kingdom come, creation restored and life lived in fullness.
About the Role : what will I do?
Christian Aid Campaign Organisers are ordinary people stepping out in faith and working with others in their church and community to build the kind of power we need to challenge the status quo.
Drawing from the community organising method, they build relationships with those around them to create powerful action.
Here's some of what you'll get up to :
About you : be part of building the kingdom in the here and now
We’re looking for people who want stand with those living in poverty around the world by taking action and building the power for change in their local community.
Together we can call out injustice and challenge decision makers from government to corporates to ensure that the system no longer works against the poor in favour of the wealthy few.
Here's some of the qualities we're looking for :
We’d love you to join us!
Through our online training and one to one support, we’ll teach you foundational organising tools such as one to one conversations’ and power mapping’ as well as how to run great local campaign actions with your church and wider community.
You’ll develop your own understanding, skills and agency in making change happen as well as strengthen your sense of belonging and community as you build relationships and take action with others.
We’ve seen it work!
We’ve seen Christian Aid campaigners use organising tools to discover allies in their churches they never knew existed. They took the time to talk, find shared concerns and agitated each other into action.
By doing so they’ve made their churches take positive steps on issues of poverty and climate justice. Organising tools such as power mapping’ have also helped Christian Aid supporters identify who holds decision making power in and outside the church.
This has enabled them to focus their campaigning energy to win real changes for those living in poverty.
Our world is crying out for justice, the earth groans for restoration. If you want to be part of creating change and want to find ways to bring others with you then apply for the Campaign Organiser role today.
