Responsibilities and Scope

  • Lead effective and efficient service delivery of Record to Report (RTR) processes
  • Support process optimisation & standardisation initiatives, implement process excellence practices and ensure initiatives are met on time and within budget
  • Build and manage a high performing team by providing leadership, role clarity, training and career development
  • Manage senior leadership & stakeholder expectations by liaising with management from Business and other Corporate functions

  • Responsible for the assigned RTR processes (accounting for various processes including Fixed Assets / Deferred Revenue / Intercompany / Professional Services / Contra / Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable / Bank / Treasury / Payroll / Pension / Direct Tax / VAT, etc.
  • ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work / reportsManage service delivery and operations of RTR transactional services in a captive Shared Services Centre (SSC) for regions such as EMEA, APJ, AMSReview monthly / quarterly balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations, and ensure they are done in a timely manner and in accordance with the accounting policyEnsure team is compliant with internal accounting policies while posting journal entriesAct as "trusted advisor" on Record to Report process and guide and influence decision makingResponsible for timely resolution of issues (including ad hoc requests) by coordinating with groups such as Treasury, Controllership and System architecture / IT teams (including escalation management)Support and coordinate the audit process (Internal Audits, SOX Audit, Local Statutory Audit, External (Process & Systems) : liaise with auditors to finalise list of deliverables and documentation needed for audit, and provide necessary explanationsImplement and follow-

  • Manage a team of individual contributors supporting Record to Report processes
  • Lead moderate to complex financial analysis for the processes owned, exercising a good understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving objectives
  • Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development
  • Ensure that the proper resources (workflow tools, applications etc.) are in place to support the processes
  • Manage and distribute workload to ensure deadlines are met in accordance with the corporate timetable
  • Liaison with senior leadership & stakeholders (including Global Process Owners) and manage their expectations through effective communication and process delivery

  • People manager skills / exposure along with subject matter expertise, will be desired
  • Direct relevant experience of working in a Captive SSC / Business Process Outsourcing Organisations will be desired (in addition to years of experience / qualification)
  • Essential :

  • Excellent domain knowledge and understanding of Record to Report Process (various processes including Fixed Assets, Deferred Revenue, Professional Services, Intercompany, Contra, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank / Treasury, Payroll / Pension, Direct Tax, VAT, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) / US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP) Accounting
  • Excellent knowledge of operation of control frameworks such as SoX
  • Strong experience of finance & accounting systems (SAP, Netsuite, Assurenet etc.)
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders- internal such as employees and external such as banks
  • Flexibility to support different time-zones and geographies
  • Flexibility to travel across geographies
  • Extensive experience of managing senior onshore customers through daily / hourly interactions
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly articulate expectations and outcomes with various levels of management, both in Finance and Business
  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written)
  • Team management skills & direct people management experience
  • Other :

  • Experience of managing transition of RTR processes from different geographies
  • Experience of service management of business operations, including process design, measurement and improvements
  • Ability to liaise and connect with finance teams / business teams & effectively navigate within a matrix organisation to deliver desired outcomes
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decision in situation requiring trade-off
