Job Family Descriptor

Drive implementation of projects related to installation of Wireless, IP services, ATM deployment etc. project as per PMP guidelines.

Conduct site visits for identification, evaluation and assessment of field conditions in order to evaluate feasibility of installation project and specified design or business generation parameters.

Plan and coordinate site preparation for readiness related to ramp up of resources and infrastructure (i.e. power, construction, back haul, colocation etc.

Monitor progress of site deployment through detailed activity plan for each site. Liaise with relevant teams to discuss service impacting event schedules to seek sign off.

Conduct site audits from time to time and ensure compliance including site commercial terms with respective sites / parties.

Analyze field conditions against design parameters and resolve escalated issues if any. Interact with vendors, construction contractors, logistics firms, Govt.

authorities as appropriate to get requisite permits for deployment / installation. Arrange for inspections with required authorities.

Conduct installation in case of standard and intermediate projects or monitor installation by vendor for complex projects.

Design the route network for relevant projects, perform options analysis and plan the roll out of networks (e.g. LMSD, NLD, MAN) build outs within allocated capex and required timelines as defined by business team.

Prepare HLD (high level design) document based on MRD submitted by business. Recommend efficient connectivity using existing network and build on existing network.

Track movement of resources, installation, equipment testing and verification by NOC team. Conduct configuration as per Engineering plan design and run standard acceptance tests and stability tests as per defined parameters in test sheets.

  • Responsible for all aspects of project / program management associated with the implementation of assigned external customer-facing projects / programs and internal non-customer facing projects / programs
  • Responsible Project scope analysis, project planning, resource management, vendor / Partner management, network deployment, migration activities, program monitor and control
  • Manage the integration of vendor / partner tasks, track and review vendor / partner deliverables
  • Provides guidance and expertise in project management using a structured project management methodology to define and carry out business objectives
  • Provides technical guidance to the project team, handles issues / risks and manages deliverables / timelines associated with the project and / or dependent projects
  • Primary points of contact in on-site between Customer, Field partner and offshore project team and lead cross-functional delivery teams to achieve deliverables and business benefits
  • Allocate project roles as per project requirements. Engage and lead the virtual team throughout the project. Develop and maintain relationships across the Technology
  • Tracking the progress against the baseline plan and, when a problem can impact the commitments made with a customer, reporting alerts to the project organization and escalates all issues to management chain
  • Responsible for change request, planned events and manage changes and adhere to the change management system defined for the projects
  • Responsible for ensuring requirements documentation is established upon milestone date, coordinates with respective team / stakeholder if process documentation is needed for specified project, responsible for loading artifacts into Customers systems per established process, creates and manages detailed project plan
  • Monitor and control the performance and quality of the project to meet the deliverables, Hold regular progress & stakeholder meetings, stage review meetings and closure meetings
  • Ultimately responsible for a successful end to end delivery of the project
  • Required Skills :

  • Knowledge and Experience Project Planning & Management - Able to establish clearly defined objectives & deliverables, build executable project plans, lead projects to completion on time, within Scope, Schedule and Cost targets (managing triple constraint), to deliver results that meet / exceed customer expectations
  • Communication - Able to provide clear, crisp written and verbal communications for work instructions, customer updates, status report dashboards, negotiations, and issue management.
  • Follow PMI PMP 9 knowledge areas and execute within project plan : Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, and Procurement Management

  • Customer Relations - Able to understand customer requirements; deal with difficult / sensitive situations, conflict resolution, associated with technical, business, or personnel situations.
  • Builds partnership relations with support groups and customer while instilling confidence within the customer. Ensure customer understands their responsibility in transition as well as customer concurrence / formal acceptance of deliverables transferring PM responsibilities to steady state

  • Tools - Able to utilize project management methodology and tools (such as Microsoft Project Professional, Visio, Lotus Smart Suite, etc) to define, plan, deliver, and communicate results.
  • Manage Gap Analysis Activities, and knows how to utilize tools / systems to procure required resources like hardware, software, and circuits, define standard interval durations for network solution & service lines, and work with solution centers to improve cycle times where possible

  • Fluent in English - Excellent oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of communication and networking technologies. Technical data product knowledge in managed router service, IP MPLS, SDH and DWDM / OTN technologies
  • Experience in telecom projects particularly roll-out migration of services in Ethernet and IP / MPLS (legacy to new platform)
  • Working independently with minimal supervision in a non-structured environment
  • Interpersonal skills to work with other departments / subsidiaries and the clients to develop timelines for project deliverables, and setting proper expectations and delivering updates on project status.
  • Prior experience interfacing directly with customers, project managers, internal / external organizations.

  • Certifications Bachelor degree in Telecommunication Engineering will be preferred or similar Technical discipline with relevant work experience will also be considered
  • IP technology certifications will be a plus
