Job Summary : Manages India payroll staff in performance of day-to-day payroll processing activities. Provides guidance for regional payroll processes and facilitates team interaction with regional payroll subject matter experts.

Ensures accuracy of payroll in accordance with internal service level agreements (SLAs) and government regulations. Interfaces with the IT Department to optimize and implement payroll systems.

This position typically works under limited supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Initiates and directs payroll process improvement activities to maximize the efficient use of company resources.
  • Analyzes and interprets Company policies and government regulations affecting the processing of payroll.
  • Manages interaction with outsourced payroll platform and / or service providers.
  • To the extent possible given varying international payroll and business requirements, drives consistency in payroll practices, controls, and management reporting.
  • Evaluates and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of the department.

  • Performs a lead role in payroll integration of newly acquired subsidiaries.
  • Monitors and develops India payroll staffing.
  • Works with the IT Department and other departments to ensure coordination of efforts.
  • Supervises the review of payroll to ensure accuracy and balancing to data input.
  • Supervises the recording of employee payroll and benefits information into the payroll database.
  • Assures the accurate computation of pay in accordance with company policy and government regulations.
  • Supervises the reconciliation of payroll reports to labor reports.
  • Preparation of reports in support of internal reporting requirements.
  • Assigns duties and evaluates work performance of department personnel.
  • Assists with resolution of employee complaints regarding payroll matters and correction of payroll errors.
  • Maintains harmony among department personnel and resolves grievances.
  • Works with other departments in the U.S. and internationally to improve communication and coordination, where necessary.
  • Performs ad hoc tasks as requested by the Global Payroll Director
  • Minimum Job Requirements :

    Four-year college degree, or equivalent, plus a minimum of eight to ten years’ experience payroll processing across multiple international regions, including three to five years as a manager.

    Capable of dealing effectively, diplomatically and courteously with all levels of employees, tax authorities and outside agencies.

    Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects and work under deadlines. Experience with SAP payroll and or ADP highly desirable.
