The Amazon team is looking for an entrepreneurial, analytical and highly motivated Quality Manager to join our team to manage quality for new and already launched Furniture products for our customers.
Quality Manager for Furniture would be responsible for managing ongoing product and process quality in Manufacturers Supply chain.
He will be responsible for development of Test Protocols for various product types, managing Pre- and Post-Production testing and Inspection by liasioning with various Test and Inspection labs like TUV, Intertek, MTS etc.
He will work with Suppliers production and QC team to identify process gaps leading to issues in product quality, make detailed corrective action plan and ensure implementation of the same by working closely with suppliers’ teams.
QM will also do in-production and surprise inspections, develop mechanisms for monitoring RM quality, process adherence around wood treatment, foam manufacturing, fabric processing etc.
Quality Manager will also be responsible for developing a low-touch but effective Quality Management process for Accelerator (Bounty) brands to ensure that defects do not get passed onto the customers.
QM will also work to reduce testing and inspection lead times by developing lab capabilities around equipment, manpower etc.

The Quality Manager’s primary responsibilities will include :
Establish robust quality management processes for all strategic suppliers
Would ensure high bar on product quality through Pre-production, In-production and post-production inspections and Testing
Identifying and developing relevant quality protocols and establishing quality bar working backwards from customer feedback and concern areas
Managing the supplier relationship on an ongoing basis including holding the supplier to quality and compliance requirements
Managing the supplier manufacturing process to insure they meet delivery performance and quality metrics.
Ensure products continuously comply with Amazon’s quality, performance, reliability, as well as relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
Identify potential problems in product design, specifications and materials, dive deep & able to drive supplier to find out root causes & solutions.
Will be responsible for driving down customer returns, Customer Contacts and drive high customer ratings / reviews
3+ years experience in managing quality in the Furniture Industry
Solid understanding on quality tools such as statistical process control, such as Pareto charts / 8D problem solving, FMEA, GR&R, FAI (first article inspection), Cpk (statistical process capability), PPAP etc.
The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization / time management and problem solving skills
Proficient in Excel
Educational background in Wood Science and Technology
Experience with a general merchandise retailer or Furniture Manufacturing company
Experience in Furniture category across Categories and Material Types - Wood, Metal, Plastics etc.
Excellent business judgment, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done
Good problem solving skills : acts decisively, promptly and confidently. Not afraid to contradict others and proactively offering solutions.
Creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer
