Brief Summary Of the Purpose Of This Role :

  • Implement repeatable Standard procedures based on documents / training provided to operate the catalogue services of CMS shared infra like openstack, openshift, vsphere etc.
  • Software, cloud, container infra deployment based on automated tools.
  • Support in Physical datacenter operations
  • In summary you will be part of the IT ops team of CMS Shared Infra
  • Description :

  • You will have the responsibility of acting on ticket roster, picking up tasks and executing them, updating and closing the tickets.
  • Use in house developed automation tools based on ansible / terraforms to deploy infrastructure on physical and IaaS layers.
  • Gain experience on troubleshooting based on knowledge captures and progress into L2 / L3 troubleshooting
  • Monitor platforms and tune, remediate as needed using SRE principles
  • Experience and Skills Required

  • Education & Experience : Diploma / Degree in computer science plus 2-5 years of IT / ISP / IaaSP experience.
  • Good understanding of modern datacenter / on-prem / cloud operations processes.
  • Understanding of ticketing system like jira, service manager, gitflow etc
  • Good knowledge of kubernetes, cloud and cloud native technologies(k8s, openstack, openshift, azure / amazon provisioning experience)
  • Good understanding of infra(compute,network,storage), operating systems, linux, good understanding a plus
  • Exposure to datacenter, network switches & configuration, storage servers and switches, blades, synergy / hyper-converged infra etc.
  • Basic Config and code management with git, jira, Kanban, agile, etc
  • Experienced with using deployment automation and its troubleshooting using ansible / puppet / heat / terraforms etc adapting and fixing code a plus.
  • Experience in logging and monitoring systems, clouds, deployments etc (zabbix, nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, EFK) and remediation.
  • Knowledgeable on Site / Systems Reliability Engineering practices
  • Hardware and OS configuration including DL / BL, iLO, raid, storage knowledge
  • Good knowledge & hands-on experience with VMWare
  • Can learn / work independently while sharing & cooperating with the greater team and beyond when needed
  • Demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry and willing to show this during an assessment of his technical skills as part of the selection procedure.
  • Experience in working across multiple sites, organizations and cultures
  • Multi-tasking and prioritization skills
