Our Client, a non profit voluntary organization, is run by a core team of young professionals, and is supported by a wider group of associates, including senior academicians from institutions such as the National Centre for Disaster Management, School of Planning and Architecture etc.

The group was formalized in early 1994 and has been involved in research activities in Community Development, Disaster Management, Environmental Planning, Transport Planning, and Urban and Regional Planning.

Our client carries out activities on behalf of government, semi - government and international development agencies. Recently the organization is working on a unique project that involves community perceptions and participation in disaster risk reduction.

They are involved in a National Environmental Awareness Campaign, and a national NGO networking initiative.

As a District Coordinator (School Safety Program) , you will develop working standards and coordination systems to increase the efficiency of the team.

What you will do :

  • Enabling and Guiding the technical team, in conducting surveys related to NSM (Non-Structural Mitigation), EWS (Early Warning Systems), development of safe learning spaces, signage including evacuation plans and RVS (Rapid Visual Screening).
  • Preparing target-based plans for the team and devise system for effective monitoring of the outcomes in timely manner.
  • Planing technical assessments and activities according to budgets and timelines in MoU.
  • Liaising with senior state government officials to apprise them of the program and get necessary permissions.
  • Developing quality benchmarks for implementation work
  • Reviewing and finalising evacuation plans and implementation of NSM activities.
  • Guiding the technical officer in implementation of activities.
  • Monitoring implementation of technical activities.
  • Conducting quality checks on activities implemented.
  • Coordinating with Project Manager for necessary approvals, payments, permissions.
  • Sending required reports for donor reporting
  • Salary : INR 3,50,000 - 5,00,000 P.A.

    Desired Candidate Profile

    What you need to have :

  • MSW from a reputed institute
  • 5-7 years of similar work experience preferred
  • Ability to produce quality reports under significant time pressure
  • Ability to work independently and with the team. Team Player.
  • Attention to details and ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and at short notice.
  • Prior experience in development sector
  • Proficient in use of MS office.
  • Good presentation skills
