Senior Accountant, Fund Accounting - ( 2020073 ) Description Summary Ares Management is seeking an Associate / Senior Associate for our US Public Credit accounting team.
The Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and oversight of a publicly traded business development company (BDC) and private funds with a primary focus on cash activities and reconciliations.
Reporting relationships Reports To Vice President, Fund Accounting Supervises n / a Primary functions and essential responsibilities Manage daily cash activities for a publicly traded BDC and private funds, including processing of payments, depositing of checks and posting to the general ledger.
Prepare / review daily cash reconciliations for all legal entities. Assist in basic treasury functions, including opening / closing of bank accounts.
Work with and liaise with internal and external resources to meet all daily, monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines. Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings for a publicly traded BDC.
Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual reporting requirements for private funds. Assist with monthly close process and preparation of various financial statement account balance reconciliations and workpapers.
Various ad-hoc / special projects. Participate and contribute to regular review of processes and deliverables to improve effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy.
qualifications Education Bachelors Degree / Certification MBA Finance Preferred / CA / CPA equivalent a plus Experience Required Minimum 3-8 years of experience in accounting / cash management preferred.
Industry experience preferred. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Advent Geneva investment accounting software a plus.

Basic understanding of US GAAP. Excellent verbal and written skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to prioritize / manage deadlines.
